Job TitlePrincipal Service Reliability EngineerTravel Distribution Engineering Services (SER) within Amadeus focuses on delivering tailored solutions to meet the unique needs of our customers. Our customers include travel agents, large online travel websites, and other travel-related businesses. We work closely with various departments to integrate and deploy customized solutions, ensuring seamless operations and enhanced customer satisfaction.The team is involved in the entire lifecycle of customer solutions, from initial consultation and design to implementation and ongoing support. In addition to our hub in Bogota, we also have hubs in APAC (Thailand, India, and Taipei) and Europe (Poland, Spain and France).Summary of the roleSRE Principal Engineer leads the design, implementation, and governance of our multi-cloud platform spanning AWS, Azure, and On-Premises Datacenter environments.This role requires deep expertise in cloud networking, hybrid connectivity, routing, firewalls, and enterprise-grade cloud architecture.Your main responsibilitiesProvide infrastructure, technical leadership in the architecture, design and implementation in AWS and Azure.Manage secure hybrid connectivity between AWS and Azure, ensuring seamless and resilient integration across environments.Design and optimize VPC/VNet and transit architectures, collaborating with GWAN teams and ensuring proper BGP routing, route table design and propagation, as well as highly available VPN, Direct Connect, and ExpressRoute connectivityMentoring senior engineers, reviewing and approving designs to enforce architectural guardrails, and collaborating with internal /external stakeholders and network teams to drive professional services projects.Provision, configure and maintain public cloud infrastructure defined as code.Set up process, services and tools around Public Cloud.Lead/participate in multi competency projects to deliver value-oriented changes.Drive Innovation and opportunities. Evaluate cutting-edge technologies and integrate them into existing system.Implement, monitor and maintain PCI DSS requirements in IT area.About Our Ideal CandidateExtensive experience as SRE.In depth knowledge of AWS key services including Compute, EKS, Messaging & Streams, Storage, AWS Monitoring, Networking & LB, IAM, etc. Certification is plus.Experience with orchestration, configuration management tools (Ansible, Terraform and CloudFormation).Windows & Linux OS troubleshooting and problem solving across platform and application domain.Competence with the following: proxy servers, containers, Kubernetes, MySQL, NoSQL, monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus & Grafana),Experience working in a 24X7 environment supporting both implementation and production ready environments.Excellent communication skills.
