Fat Zebra’s CDR solutions can be used for any use case, in any industry, and can be deployed in a matter of hours.About The RoleFat Zebra is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join our Consumer Data Right (CDR) platform team and help drive and execute the technical vision for our Open Banking solutions.As a Principal Software Engineer in the CDR platform team, you will:Provide architectural leadership across backend and platform services, influencing technical direction across several teamsDesign and build secure, scalable APIs and services using Kotlin and/or Java (Spring Boot)Lead design and implementation of large-scale distributed systems in Kotlin or Java using Spring BootDrive technical decisions balancing short-term delivery and long-term maintainability.Incorporate strong authentication/authorization models including PKI, OAuth2/OIDC, and token-based systems.Ensure systems have first-class observability: structured logging, metrics, tracing, dashboards, and alerting.The ideal candidate has strong experience in the following;8+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years at a senior level.Strong expertise in Kotlin and/or Java, with experience using Spring Boot to build modern backend services.Deep experience with AWS, including ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS/DynamoDB, VPC, and networking fundamentals.Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation (Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation, or similar).Strong understanding of PKI, certificate management, mTLS, JWT, OAuth2/OIDC, and modern authN/authZ patterns.Strong experience building observable, reliable systems using logs, metrics, tracing, SLOs, and alertingFor a confidential discussion about the position call Fat Zebra’s Talent Manager, Rose Filippone on 0409236061.
