Job Title: Chief Financial OfficerOur client in the FMCG sector is looking for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The CFO will serve as a key strategic partner to the MD and the Board, responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial strategy, planning, management, and governance. You will lead our finance, accounting, and compliance functions, playing a critical role in shaping the company’s financial future and ensuring long-term financial health. Key Responsibilities: A true business partner to the MD and Department Heads. Reporting to the MD, the key responsibilities and tasks will include the following:
Assist the MD with the preparation of the Annual Operating Plan, including strategic planning, preparation of annual budgets and providing recommendations for the company and its subsidiaries to further improve Company financial performance. Be fully involved in the formulation of the Companies strategy and plans, including medium to long term financial planning to align with the Organization Goals. Analyze, report and track monthly performance against both the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and the Company’s long-term strategic plan. Initiates corrective actions, minimizes impact of variances and develops performance measures that support the operation’s strategic direction.
Ensure timeliness, accuracy and usefulness of financial and management reporting to the Audit Committee Board of Directors and relevant authorities. Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements. Develop tools, KPIs and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the MD and make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations. Design and implement effective Management information systems and Monthly Financial reports and ensure submission of timely and accurate reports.
Oversee the accounting department to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems and functions supervise the rest of the Finance functions including Financial Planning, Internal Controls, Commercial Finance, Treasury and IT and ensure their effective performance. Liaising with internal /external auditors and ensuring all information and accounts are made available on time and recommendations from internal audit timely implemented. Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls, on-going review and enhancement of internal control systems in all areas of financial risks and ensure compliance with Company standard practices and procedures as well as with regulatory and Governance matters.
Ensuring an effective working capital management system, including monitoring of cash flows, timely debt collection, effective inventory control cash collections and creditors management. Liaison with banks, including negotiations of banking facilities. Assess future revenue growth opportunities through mergers and acquisitions, geographic expansion or by developing adjacent businesses. About YouBachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Economics. Master’s in business administration (MBA) with a focus in Finance, Strategic Management, or Leadership. Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant CPA) or Certified Financial Analyst (CFA).
At least 5 years of experience as a CFO or senior finance executive in a complex, growth-oriented business. Proven Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) competency — including experience in target identification, due diligence, deal structuring, valuation, and post-merger integration. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Track record of strategic thinking, business acumen, and operational execution.
