Job Description

DescriptionThe Mortgage Loan Processor is responsible for reviewing, verifying, and preparing loan files to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and investor/agency guidelines. This role serves as the key liaison between loan officers, underwriters, borrowers, and third parties to ensure timely and smooth progression of loans from application through closing.RequirementsKey Responsibilities:Review loan applications and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness. Collect and verify borrower income, assets, credit, and employment information. Order and review third-party documentation, including appraisals, title work, flood certifications, and credit reports. Ensure all loans meet regulatory requirements, investor guidelines, and company standards. Work closely with loan officers and underwriters to resolve discrepancies and obtain additional documentation when needed. Maintain clear communication with borrowers regarding loan status, outstanding conditions, and timelines. Prepare and submit loan files for underwriting approval. Track and follow up on outstanding conditions to ensure timely loan closing. Update loan origination systems with accurate and current information. Collaborate with closing department to prepare files for funding. QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred. 2+ years of mortgage processing experience strongly preferred. Knowledge of FHA, VA, USDA, and Conventional loan guidelines. Familiarity with LOS (Loan Origination Systems) and compliance regulations (e.g., TRID, RESPA, TILA). Strong attention to detail, organizational, and multitasking skills. Excellent communication and customer service abilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
