Job Description

Procurement OfficerKey ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement procurement plans and strategies aligned with organizational objectives.Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, price, delivery, and service.Prepare and issue purchase orders, requests for quotations (RFQs), and tenders.Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with vendors and contractors.Maintain accurate procurement records, including supplier contracts, purchase orders, and invoices.Monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with contractual terms and service level agreements.Collaborate with internal departments to identify purchasing needs and specifications.Ensure that procurement activities comply with organizational policies, ethical standards, and legal requirements.Manage inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams for timely delivery of goods.Prepare procurement reports and analyze data to identify cost-saving opportunities.Maintain awareness of market trends, product developments, and changes in supplier pricing.Qualifications & SkillsEducation:Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.Professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM, or equivalent) is an advantage.Experience:Minimum of [2–5] years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.Experience in [specific industry, e.g., construction, manufacturing, NGO, or government sector] is preferred.Skills:Strong negotiation and contract management skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Good understanding of procurement laws, policies, and best practices.Proficiency in MS Office and procurement or ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.High level of integrity and attention to detail.Key CompetenciesStrategic thinking and planningVendor relationship managementCost reduction and value optimizationCompliance and risk managementTime management and multitaskingWorking ConditionsOffice-based with occasional field visits or supplier site inspections.May require travel depending on project or supplier locations.
