Our vision for production is to build an in-house model that blends the best of traditional broadcast and content with AI, automation, and dynamic content innovation.Redefining the way content is produced—leveraging AI and emerging technologies to streamline workflows, enhance creativity, and drive efficiency, and delivering high-quality, impactful content at speed and scale.Role OverviewThe Producer is a key role within Bastion’s Production Team working across the broader Marketing Communications Group. The work is a mixed range of media channels and formats (broadcast, content, video, social and AI) with our Melbourne and Sydney teams across multiple accounts and delivering multiple projects concurrently.The Producer will scope, produce, manage and creatively problem solve across a range of broadcast, content, video and integrated projects, supporting the wider production team and ensuring the department is a profitable one.The role will support the National Production Lead in increasing our broadcast, content and integrated production capabilities.As Producer, you will also engage multi skilled creative and production personnel, directors and crew to facilitate a variety of TV & Content projects. Work may be carried out across our Production teams in Melbourne or Sydney.Roles & ResponsibilitiesProduction & ExecutionProduction management.Ensure all work is produced to the highest standard possible - delivered on time and on budget.Attend creative team briefings with suppliers and co-ordinate pre-productionDevelop and build a network of creative relationships including production companies, freelance directors, multi skilled technicians/crew, talent agents, facility companies, composers & sound studios.Estimating and scheduling.Bring creative concepts to life through industry knowledge, creative intuition and thorough planning while managing expectations in relation to budget and time.Ensure timing plans are followed and adhered to at all times.Editing and post production supervision and an extensive knowledge of animation and editing techniques.Internal sign off managementBooking voice over/audio session and attending those and radio sessions when required.Location surveys and art department supervision.Post production supervision and music negotiation.Overall supervision of shootsMaintaining a talent rollover database, including organising Child Welfare paperwork through Talentpay.Developing and proposing production facilitation services for Clients and other businesses where Bastion have relationships.Industry & Innovation Stay ahead of industry trends, particularly in AI-generated content, virtual production, AR, VR and automation.Identify and support any new production models, workflows, and partnerships to in enhance speed and efficiency.Build and maintain expertise in CGI and generative AI’s role in content creation.Supplier & Talent ManagementBuild and manage relationships with directors, crew, production houses, VFX artists, CGI specialists, and digital production vendors.Assist onboarding of Freelancers to the team freelanceNegotiate competitive rates for production and post-production services.Digital & Cross-Platform ExpertiseApply a digital-first mindset to all productions, integrating social, interactive, and immersive formats.Understand print and digital asset production, ensuring smooth cross-over when required.Work across multi-format outputs, from traditional TVC to programmatic, digital OOH, and interactive experiences.Financial & Operational Management Develop accurate production budgets, schedules, and cost estimates.Input into the departments monthly forecastingEnsure cost-effective production strategies that maintain creative integrity.Manage contracts, licensing, and talent usage rights efficiently.What You'll Bring5+ years experience in production with a background in broadcast and content with both agency and line production experience.Knowledge of post-production process, and experience in CGI, and AI-powered content creation is desirableExcellent budget management and strong negotiation skills.Thorough knowledge of copyright, casting, talent license and usage child welfare, music usage, CADA robust black book of industry contacts (directors, editors, sound designers, VFX artists, production houses).Support any new production processes by embracing new technologies.Understanding of print and digital production workflows and where they interact with content.A passion for innovation, problem-solving, and creative collaboration.A can-do attitude and a collaborative nature to the teamBe able to multitask and willing to do any part of the production process to support what is required by the Production and Creative team.What We OfferFlexible work in a hybrid work environment with mental wellbeing initiativesA supportive culture focused on collaboration and personal growthA truly integrated agency network that includes research, data, insights, creative, digital, experiential, reputation management, content production, performance, earned media, etc.Robust G&D program training throughout the yearHappy DaysCulture Club: a calendar of events that connects our team in creative and fun waysThe Bastion Evolve mentoring programInclusive parental leave that offers 12 weeks paid leave for primary carersCSR leave
