Position No. 323Contract - Temporary until November 2026Up to Band 7 (based on experience) - $100,629 - $112594 plus 12% statutory superannuationGraduates welcome to applyAn opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and experienced Road Planning Engineer to join our Built Environment business unit. In this role you will form solutions and prioritise outcomes relevant to Council road, bridge, path and drainage assets, for integration into maintenance and capital works renewal and improvement programs across the Wellington Shire.ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be offered a variety of challenging functions, with a mix of both field and office work. Key responsibilities of the role include:Engagement with internal and external stakeholders, to ensure Council's works align with community and organisational needs.Assistance with Capital works planning including, the development of long-term capital works renewal and upgrade plans.Development of traffic management solutions.Reviewing and approving traffic management plans and issuing memorandum of authorisation documentation.Undertaking inspections, audit, investigation and reporting activities.If you have completed an Engineering degree and have a passion for making difference in the community, we welcome your application.The successful candidate will need to demonstrate how they meet the criteria below:Civil Engineering qualification, or in last year of degree program.Understanding of road and drainage infrastructure design and maintenance principles.Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, analyse data and prioritise tasks.Ability to effectively communicate, liaise with and gain co-operation from other employees, public authorities and external providers.Aptitude for using current technology, and skills in utilising Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Microsoft Excel software.Why Wellington?Here at Wellington Shire Council, we have a strong commitment to create a workplace culture that is collaborative, provides work-life flexibility and encourages opportunities for growth and development.
