When everything is built together, hands-on, under one roof, the results are nothing short of magic.About the roleWe’re looking for an Industrial Designer who is technically sharp, creatively curious and thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. You love solving problems through design, working collaboratively and bringing ideas into the real world with accuracy and craftsmanship.In this role, you will translate concepts into fully resolved designs, producing technical drawings, specification documents and production-ready files across a wide range of materials and fabrication methods. You’ll work closely with Project Managers, Production, and fellow designers to ensure every build is both beautifully considered and practically achievable.This role is ideal for a detail-driven designer with strong CAD skills, a passion for how things are made, and a desire to see your work move from concept to reality.Your responsibilities As an Industrial Designer at Boom Studios, you’ll help turn ideas into buildable, beautifully resolved outcomes. You will:Interpret concepts and translate them into detailed, production-ready designsProduce clear, accurate technical drawings and documentation for fabricationBuild and manage 3D models in Fusion360Prepare cut files and other production assets using Adobe Illustrator (or similar)Work closely with Project Managers, Production and other designers to ensure accuracy, feasibility and qualitySupport prototyping, testing and development of new fabrication methodsMaintain organised, traceable design and engineering documentation.Your skills and experienceYou’re a technically capable, detail-minded designer with a solid understanding of how things are made. Must-haves:Strong Fusion360 proficiencyAbility to produce accurate technical drawings for productionExperience preparing specification documents (materials, finishes, fixings, production methods)Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator (or similar) for cut-file creationStrong organisational habits and documentation practices.Nice-to-haves:Familiarity with engineering or compliance requirementsExperience in signage, retail, events or fabrication-based environmentsHands-on experience with CNC routers, 3D printers or other production toolsAbility to produce presentation decks in InDesignConcept sketching and ideation abilityExperience using Blender.QualificationsDegree in Industrial Design or Product Design EngineeringMinimum 3 years’ relevant experienceExcellent communication and project coordination skills.What’s in it for youAt Boom Studios, you’ll be part of a passionate, tight-knit team that loves what they do, and it shows in our staff retention and culture.
