With a strong focus on financial performance, customer value, and governance, the organisation offers a dynamic environment for professionals who thrive in strategic and analytical roles.The Head of Product Finance & Costing plays a strategic leadership role, overseeing the financial performance, costing structures, and profitability of a broad product portfolio. This role ensures sound financial governance, transparency, and long-term sustainability across value-added products. Working closely with the Managing Director, Executive Committee, and Board, the incumbent will influence key business decisions and contribute to the organisation’s financial strategy.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Financial OversightProvide executive oversight of all financial modelling, product performance analysis, and costing frameworks.Shape and drive the financial strategy for product performance and profitability.Advise the Executive Committee and Board on pricing, product costing, and financial performance insights.Evaluate new product and channel opportunities from a financial viability perspective.Governance, Risk & ComplianceEnsure robust financial controls, governance, and reporting frameworks.Oversee compliance with regulatory, statutory, and contractual obligations.Contribute to finance and fund committees overseeing product performance.Performance Monitoring & AnalysisDevelop and monitor costing strategies and principles to ensure fairness and accuracy.Track product profitability, key performance indicators, and sustainability metrics.Present performance reports and insights to the Executive and Board, highlighting risks and opportunities.Stakeholder EngagementAct as the key liaison for financial and product-related matters with external stakeholders, regulators, auditors, and partners.Ensure transparent communication with clients, partners, and internal teams.Leadership & People ManagementLead and mentor a high-performing analytical team.Drive a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement.Build long-term internal capability in product costing and financial analysis.RequirementsEducation & Professional Qualifications:Postgraduate qualification in Applied Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Financial Engineering, or Quantitative Finance.Professional qualification advantageous (CA(SA), CFA, CIMA, MBA).Experience:8–10 years’ senior finance or product performance experience, with at least 2 years in an executive or Exco role.Proven track record in analysing large-scale product portfolios, costing structures, or financial planning operations.Strong knowledge of IFRS relevant to fund and product reporting.Experience leading teams and driving strategic financial decisions.Technical & Analytical Skills:Advanced financial modelling, forecasting, and scenario analysis.Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and/or R for financial and data analysis.Skilled in business intelligence, reporting, and data visualisation.Deep understanding of pricing strategies, unit economics, and profitability analysis.Personal Attributes:Strategic thinker with exceptional commercial acumen.Strong leadership and communication skills with executive presence.Resilient, adaptable, and highly analytical.Collaborative, ethical, and results-driven.
