M & J Group is looking for Product Safety Officer (Denim Bottom) - Quality Assurance- Genesis Fashions Ltd.About the Company: M&J Group entered into manufacturing activities in 1963 by establishing a flour milling company. M&J Group aspires to be the leading supplier in the global fashion business by offering the best expertise and knowledge in producing Ready Made Garments.Job Responsibilities:Ensure all denim products (jeans, shorts, skirts, etc.) comply with product safety standards such as REACH, CPSIA, Prop 65, GB standards, OEKO-TEX, and ZDHC requirements.Review and approve chemical and physical test reports from internal labs or external testing agencies.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of buyer-specific safety manuals and ensure compliance across production.Verify that trims, fabrics, threads, dyes, and washes used are compliant with restricted substances lists (RSL/MSL).Implement and monitor a Chemical Management System (CMS) for all washing and finishing units.Ensure suppliers provide valid MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) and chemical conformity certificates.Work closely with the Wet Process/Wash Department/ Stitching Department to ensure safe use of chemicals, enzymes, and dyes.Coordinate periodic chemical inventory audits and maintain documentation.Develop and implement product risk assessment protocols (sharp edges, choking hazards, flammability, colorfastness, etc.).Liaise with third-party laboratories (e.g., SGS, ITS, BV) for safety and performance testing.Analyze test failures, identify root causes, and initiate corrective action plans with relevant departments.Communicate with buyers’ compliance teams on product safety requirements, audits, and CAP follow-ups.Stay updated on changes in global apparel safety laws and share updates with management and production teams.Conduct training sessions for production, laundry, and merchandising teams on product safety and chemical compliance.Promote a culture of safety awareness across departments.Maintain accurate records of all safety test reports, certifications, and supplier compliance documents.Prepare monthly compliance reports for management and buyers.Ensure audit readiness for buyer compliance, BSCI, WRAP, GOTS, or ISO audits.Perform any other tasks as assigned by the superior.Educational RequirementsGraduation from any discipline.Experience Requirements3 to 6 year(s)Additional Requirements3–6 years of experience in a product safety, QA, or compliance role in a denim or woven garment factory.Experience with sustainability certifications (ZDHC, OEKO-TEX, GOTS, Bluesign) and buyer compliance programs (G-Star, Celio, Varner, C&A, J&J etc.).Strong knowledge of product safety standards, RSL, MRSL, and garment testing protocols.Familiarity with denim washing processes, chemical usage, and sustainability requirements.Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and strong documentation skills.Ability to coordinate across multiple departments (QA, Production, Washing, Merchandising).Strong communication and reporting skills in English.Must be fluent in English (Reading, writing, and speaking).Job LocationGazipur
