We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team who shares our vision of building a sustainable and profitable major Australian gold business.About The OpportunityWe are currently seeking an Underground Drill and Blast Engineers to join the Technical Services teams across our Northern and Southern Operations. This opportunity is offering a competitive remuneration package and a bi-annual bonus within a continuously growing company, whilst on an 8 day on, 6 day off roster.We are seeking all graduates who are ready for the next opportunity, but also welcome existing Drill and Blast Engineers looking for a new challenge, and to grow with Westgold.The role includesCompletion of drilling plans aligned with 13WK scheduleCompletion of charging plansTele remote plans for underground bogging activitiesPreparation of short-term weekly schedulesAssume responsibilities as Ventilation Officer (if required)Completion of Primary and Secondary Ventilation Surveys in accordance with WA Mine regulationsAdhere to Project Operation Safety Plan (POSP)QA/QC duties to ensure safety and productivity of drill and blast activities undergroundHighlight key activities and critical path processes of budgets, forecasts and weekly plansTrack operational performance of key indicators and report to managementManage and administrate contractor database systems (Plodtrack and Livemine)Manage adhoc projects as directed by the Senior Mining Engineer and Underground ManagerPropose and implement business improve initiativesPropose and participate in process improvements within the organizationWhat do I need?Tertiary qualification in Engineering (mining preferred)At least 2 years' experience in UG Mine EngineeringUG time completed (or close to)Previous exposure of underground drill and blast practices, preferably within a gold mine, to be able to design and implement drill and blast plansWorking closely with production operations to achieve drill and blast excellenceDisplay ability to plan and schedule safety parallel to mining physicals rather than having safety being managed downstreamKnowledge Deswik UGDBPossesses a current and valid Manual Driver's LicenceThe Westgold OfferA Range Of Benefits Including A permanent full-time position at a successful gold producer Performance based bonus Group salary continuous insurance A health and wellness allowance Health insurance discount A range of Family and Medical leave policies that includes IVF, surrogacy and adoption.
