Alligator brand is a well-established food manufacturing business in Tottenham, west of Melbourne. The business has been operating for 30 years and is continually growing, producing food for high-profile customers Australia wide. Quality and Food Safety are paramount and we pride ourselves on innovation and presentation.Along with your team of 4, the primary role in our Hot Kitchen involves planning, preparing and cooking bulk quantities of filling to supply the ravioli and dumpling lines.Secondary but equally important is the contribution to new product development.Critical the applicant must have strong communication skills and have experience working in a high-volume food manufacturing environment. This is a 'Hands On' role.You will liaise with other department supervisors and report to the Plant Manager. We look forward to hearing from reliable, punctual, enthusiastic well-trained people.Job Type: Full-timeShifts: Daytime Monday to FridayShift: 8 hours, 5 daysTasks & ResponsibilitiesLead daily operations in your department. Ensure adequate staffing level, Plan ingredients for production schedule. Ensure the team is following recipes for bulk mixing. Importantly, deliver on time and high-quality products for the Forming department.Oversee ordering, stock rotation, and inventory management. Enter data into the inventory management system. Liaise with the procurement manager on current stock levels and forecast volumesMentor and motivate your team by working closely, communicating to execute the daily production plan. Encourage their development and be supportive of improvement suggestions.Work closely with Plant and QA managers on continual improvement to efficiency and food safety. Cooperate with other department supervisors to run the plant effectively.Compliance. Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practice. Conduct and record quality and safety checks. Complete records concerning cooking temperatures, expiry dates of raw material, production records & cleaning schedulesNew Product Development Produce test batches of new recipes. Innovate with new ingredients. Contribute ideas and find improvements to current recipes.All candidates should:Have the ability to exercise sound judgementBe a problem solverBe hands-on and physically fitHave 5 years of proven food industry experienceHave experience in an SQF or BRC level plantPay attention to detailHave the ability to work under pressure withHave effective time management skillsBe a team player with a strong work ethic
