Job Description

Our client, a global education company is hiring for an experieced Professional Learning Manager to be based in Ghana as part of their regional expansion. The Professional Learning Manager will serve as the academic and pedagogical leader of the organization.The Professional Learning Manager leads the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the organisation's professional learning frameworks and instructional models. This role works closely with the Partnerships Manager and Partner Success Manager to ensure that all partnerships and deployments are grounded in strong pedagogy and effective teacher development.This position reports directly to the CEO and plays a critical role in shaping the academic vision, credibility, and long-term program quality of the organisation. Role responsibilities:Academic Leadership & VisionServe as the academic authority, ensuring instructional quality, rigor, and alignment across all programsDefine and maintain the organisation's professional learning philosophy, instructional frameworks, and implementation standardsRepresent the organisation as a subject-matter expert in pedagogy, teacher development, and education systemsProgram Design & ImplementationLead the design and adaptation of professional learning programs for teachers, school leaders, and education partnersEnsure alignment of all programs with national curricula, teacher competency frameworks, and global education standardsOversee implementation models across diverse contexts, including NGO-led programs, government initiatives, and school-based deploymentsCurriculum & Standards AlignmentReview and validate all instructional content, lesson-planning frameworks, and assessment approaches within the platformEnsure contextual relevance while maintaining alignment with international best practicesGuide localization efforts across countries and education systemsTeacher Development & Capacity BuildingDesign teacher professional development pathways that support instructional improvement and sustained platform useSupport training-of-trainers models and institutional capacity-building approachesEstablish quality assurance processes to monitor instructional fidelity and learning outcomesCross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with the Partnerships Manager to provide academic input into partnership discussions and proposalsCollaborate with the Partner Success Manager to ensure effective onboarding, training, and ongoing supportAdvise product and leadership teams on pedagogical requirements and educator needsMonitoring, Learning & ImprovementDefine success metrics related to instructional quality, teacher engagement, and learning outcomesSupport evaluation, feedback loops, and continuous improvement of professional learning programsContribute to research, documentation, and thought leadership that strengthen the organisation's academic credibility Candidate requirements:Master's degree in Education required; PhD strongly preferred15+ years of experience in education, with deep expertise in program design, curriculum development, and teacher professional learningSenior leadership experience within education systems, NGOs, academic institutions, or large-scale education programsDemonstrated experience aligning programs to national curricula and international education standardsStrong background in teacher development, instructional coaching, and adult learning theoryExperience working across diverse education contexts, including low-resource or emerging-market environmentsExceptional communication skills and ability to engage credibly with senior education stakeholdersStrategic thinker with the ability to translate academic vision into scalable, practical implementationComfortable working in a for-profit education technology environmentReliable laptop and internet connectionWillingness to travel locally for trainings, partner engagements, and site visits If you are based in Ghana and this role matches your experience and expertise, please do apply.
