Then join us as our new Project Controller in the Department of Animal Sciences.In this challenging role, you will be responsible for the financial management of various projects. You will support (complex) projects from the acquisition phase through to financial completion. As a project controller, you are the financial expert who plays a key role in assessing project budgets. You provide a critical perspective on project progress and forecasts, evaluating them against the project budget and funding conditions, while identifying and closely monitoring financial risks.In addition to your financial expertise, you are a trusted sparring partner for project leaders and business controllers within the research groups. You ensure that project files are accurate and complete. In short, you make sure every project runs smoothly from a financial standpoint.You will work independently, but also closely with colleagues from Finance & Control and the Research Liaison Office. With your professional expertise, you make a valuable contribution to the ongoing professionalization of our Finance & Control department.Thanks in part to your work, the financing of many large research projects becomes possible — projects that contribute to the important societal theme of animal and human health. The Department of Animal Sciences is committed to and promotes internationally leading education and research on the functioning of animals in nature and in relation to humans. The department has an annual turnover of over €45 million.Your qualitiesYou will be a good addition to our team if you:have a higher professional education (HBO+) level of working and thinking in business economics, accountancy, or a similar financial study;preferably have a few years of relevant work experience within a (project) organization;are strong analytically, work carefully, structured, and result-oriented;are willing to develop yourself;use your communication skills to build a bridge between project leaders and F&C;have good command of both spoken and written Dutch and English;want to work both independently and in a team.Location: WageningenYou will also recognize the following skills in yourself: you like to take initiative, you are flexible, honest, accurate, and always looking for opportunities to further develop yourself.In our international working environment, communication is increasingly conducted in English.
