Remembrance, Resolution, Reconciliation, Restoration, Renewal About the Position:The Project Director is responsible to plan, organize, direct, and coordinating all aspects of the project. This position develops, interprets, and administers policies and procedures governing the project, and administers appropriate strategies for recruitment, selection, and retention of staff. This management-level position oversees the delivery of services, ensures contract compliance with County of Los Angeles Department of Youth Development (DYD) and Probation Department policies, procedures and fiscal regulations. This position acts as the operations manager over all staff at County of LA Juvenile Halls, Camps, Secured Youth Treatment Facilities (SYTF’s) as needed/assigned. What You Will Do:Ensures compliance with the contract and DYD/Probation Department policy expectations of contract employeesResponsible for the day-to-day management, oversight and operation of this project. Oversees the management information system (MIS) for all data collection systems;Ensures timely responses to DYD/Probation Department requests for statistics, reports and data;Develops quality control procedures to ensure high-quality service;Ensures the provision of a strength-based, trauma-informed model;Responsible for overall supervision and oversight of all contract staff to ensure service delivery meets organizational standards and contractual obligations;Possesses strong working knowledge of programmatic process, incorporating principles and techniques of individual, small, and large group counseling;Monitors the casework of project staff;Addresses the operational needs associated with DYD/Probation Department project;Provides in-service training and on the job training for new Credible Messengers, Credible Messenger Supervisors, other support faculty/staff, as well as DYD/Probation staff as needed;Implements appropriate strategies for recruitment, selection, training, and retention of staff;Responsible for fiscal monitoring of expenditures; and Ensures contract staff compliance with DYD/Probation Department policies and procedures and work collaboratively with DYD/Probation Department and institution staff.Maintains sensitivity and objectivity under pressures generated by associate with participants;Protects and maintains participants’ health, safety, welfare, and confidentiality of records and information; and Models professionalism, effective work habits, and responsible living.What You Will BringHighly competent in organizational leadership and contract compliance;Ability to integrate, disseminate, and implement requirements, reporting timeframes and/or procedure changes as indicated by DYD/Probation DepartmentAbility to effectively supervise and train a multi-disciplinary team; and,Excellent interpersonal, written communications and typing skills.Required: Four (4) years of youth or adult programming experience in a correctional or community-based setting; ORFour-year degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, sociology, criminal justice or other related field AND minimum two (2) years of documented administrative responsibility experience in a youth or adult program.Minimum Three (3) Years of Documented Supervision Experience (prefer in a youth or adult program).Must pass a background check administered by DYD/Probation Department.Preferred: Lived Experience (formerly incarcerated or justice involved) with demonstrated ability to live productive and law-abiding lives considered an asset for this position.Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor Certification and/or registration, and/or Behavioral Health License.Familiarity with the Offender Mentor Certification Program (OMCP) in a correctional setting (CA-CDCR).Continuing Education/Training:Within specified contract timeframes, personnel file shall document evidence of participation in the following trainings:New Employee Orientation (Organizational and Institutional Orientation) Initial orientation to DYD/Probation Department policies and procedures provided by the County of Los AngelesMotivational InterviewingMonthly TrainingAdditional training topics relevant to the delivery of treatment services may include:Required CurriculumCase management and record keeping requirements, including ARMSAppropriate, required individualized treatment/action plan documentationWorking with participant in a secure facility settingProfessional ethics and overfamiliarityConfidentiality (Title 42 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 2)Process group and cognitive skills groupCounseling and other skills necessary to develop a treatment community within a prison settingTherapeutic community conceptsTrauma-Informed Care Criminal justice treatmentGender responsive treatmentCriminalityImpact of trauma on SUD and criminalityTreatment of traumaTreatment within a diverse offender populationIssues impacting SUD and criminalityCultural Competency TrainingCPR Certification, First Aid Certification and an annual Tuberculosis (TB) testSexual Harassment Prevention and Prison Rape Elimination Policy (PREA)Emergency ProceduresHealth Insurance Portability Accountability Act (Title 45 CFR Part 164)Signed acknowledgement of Drug Free Workplace policyParticipate in monthly, block, cross-training, curriculum trainings, technical assistance training or other training as appropriate.What We BringMedical, Dental, Vision.Paid vacation, sick time, & holidays.401K, HSA, & Life insurance programs.Organization committed to community action.Community oriented workplace. $90,000 - $90,000 semi monthly
