Project Engineer

Who we are:Al Marwan Group is a holding company established in 1978, Al Marwan Group has grown a strong diversified portfolio in Real Estate Development & Management, Hospitality, General Contracting and Heavy Machinery trading of brand new and used equipment for the Construction, Mining, Oil, and Gas industries.We are seeking professional candidate for Project Engineer position which is a pivotal role responsible for the technical coordination, quality control, and successful execution of the structural elements (bridges, underpasses, retaining walls, culverts, foundations, etc.) within major road and infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with UAE local authority standards.Key Responsibilities;1. Core Function & Project ManagementTechnical Coordination: Act as the primary technical liaison between the design team, construction supervision consultant (CSC), subcontractors, and the site execution team for all structural works.Method Statement Review: Prepare, review, and approve detailed Method Statements (MS) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) for structural construction activities, including formwork, rebar fixing, concrete pouring, and post-tensioning.Schedule Management: Work closely with the Planning Engineer to develop and monitor short-term construction look-ahead schedules for structural packages to ensure alignment with the overall project master schedule.Procurement Support: Define technical specifications and requirements for the procurement of major structural materials (e.g., concrete mixes, steel reinforcement, bridge bearings) and specialized structural subcontractors.2. Structural & Technical ExpertiseDrawing & Specification Control: Review and manage all structural drawings (IFC) and specifications against the contract documents and ensure the latest approved revisions are used on site.RFI Management: Proactively raise and manage Requests for Information (RFI) to clarify design discrepancies, structural details, and interface issues.Material Submittals: Prepare and process all structural Material Submittals for approval by the Consultant/Client, ensuring full compliance with project specifications and relevant local authority standards (e.g., DM, RTA, ADM, DOT).Temporary Works: Oversee the design and execution of temporary structural works, such as heavy shoring systems, temporary traffic diversions (TDD), and falsework for bridges and elevated structures.3. Quality Assurance & Site SupervisionQuality Control (QC): Manage the site quality team to ensure all structural work is executed as per the approved ITPs and MS. This includes checking rebar schedules, dimensions, geometry, concrete slump tests, and curing procedures.Inspections: Coordinate and attend all mandatory Consultant Inspections for structural hold points (e.g., foundation blinding, rebar clearance, shuttering readiness).Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all project safety plans and local authority regulations, particularly regarding working at height and structural stability during construction.Progress Tracking: Regularly monitor physical progress on site for structural elements and report progress and potential delays to the Project Manager.Qualifications & ExperienceEducation: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.Experience: Minimum of 4-7 years of experience as a Site or Project Engineer, with at least 3 years focused on structural works for major roads, highways, bridges, viaducts, tunnels, or large-scale infrastructure projects in the UAE or GCC region.UAE Expertise: Proven track record of successfully managing project documentation and obtaining approvals from local authorities (e.g., RTA, DM) is highly advantageous.Skills: Strong proficiency in interpreting complex structural design drawings. Excellent communication, technical writing, and problem-solving skills.Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), and familiarity with relevant engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D basics).
