Project Engineer Building Electricity & Security

Role overview:Engineering DepartmentAt the Pfizer Puurs site, our Engineering Department consists of around 400 employees.Engineering is responsible for delivering all investment projects safely, according to plan, and within budget, while ensuring that installations are robust and high-performing to support the production of high-quality injectable medicines. Projects are developed from definition and scope through to production start-up, after which new installations are handed over to production or maintenance. During construction and installation, we closely monitor worksites to guarantee the safety of all activities performed.Job Description : The Project Engineer Building Electricity & Security (PE BES) works on projects focused on expanding and keeping up to date the electrical (low and high voltage, network infrastructure, gas monitoring systems, lighting, etc.) and security (CCTV, badge control, fire detection, etc.) installations.In collaboration with the Technical Owner, the PE seeks the most optimal solution — balancing quality and budget — while always maintaining a strong focus on safety. This reflects the team’s vision: unity within the team, consistency in execution, and a strong emphasis on safety and quality.Main Tasks: The PE service is responsible for the correct execution of projects, which includes:Working within a multidisciplinary team (HVAC, utilities, equipment, etc.) and defining scope, planning, budget, and techniques.Supervising third parties involved in projects.Preparing works thoroughly in advance.Drafting technical specifications.Identifying and appointing contractors, in collaboration with procurement if necessary.Creating and managing Purchase Orders (POs).Being present on site during contractor works and ensuring proper follow-up.Managing the necessary permits.Completing validation or verification scripts (if required).Finalizing as-built documentation.Checking and approving work orders and invoices.Completing contractor follow-up documentation.Keeping resource planning up to date.Delivering the project to the appropriate operational department (utilities, facilities, etc.).Ensuring project continuity with the support of a back-up from the same technology team.Technical Requirements:Master’s degree in Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering (Industrial or Civil Engineer) or a Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience — this is a must.At least 1 year of proven experience working with electricity and/or security systems at an industrial level — this is a must.Added value: VCA for supervisors, knowledge of Caneco (for cable calculations), experience with Eplan or AutoCAD, and experience in the pharmaceutical industry.Personal Skills:Customer- and team-oriented, project management skills, improvement and technology mindset, strong administrative and communication skills, and a sense of responsibility.Languages: Good knowledge of Dutch and English.
