Phase 1B was occupied in July 2012 and CHS’s maintenance contract is for 30 years post 2012 and covers ‘hard’ FM Services. Phase 1C (650,000 sqft) was signed with Plenary Health. Substantial Completion for Phase 1C was achieved in September 2020 and CAMH occupied the new facilities in November 2020. The “hard” FM services portion of Phase 1C is now underway and will continue to be managed by Redevelopment for the next 30 years.Two Project Are Currently In Pre-construction Development, NamelyPhase 1D (Forensic) – 1 building, approximately 523,000 GFA. RFP released in Fall 2022 and will be delivered as a DBF project with occupancy anticipated 2026-27.Phase 1D (Research) – 1 building, approximately 375,000 GFA, at the procurement phase of the project. Project will be delivered under a Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) contract with occupancy targeted for 2026-27.This opportunity will support the Phase 1D Research project.In a matrix reporting relationship with the Project Director and Senior Project Manager, the Project Manager will be responsible for leading and providing hands-on project management and contract administration during the planning, design, construction and close-out stages of the Phase 1D Research Project. Direct, hands-on project experience during the construction stage is preferred as is technical and contractual knowledge of the planning, design and construction stages of projects.The Project Manager will play a key role on the Phase 1D Research project and will be responsible to provide a significant portion of the hands-on coordination, planning, and execution of tasks required to manage the project. The Project Manager will lead and execute project work streams independently and be accountable for the tracking of assigned project documents. The Project Manager will lead the engagement and coordination of a variety of internal and external stakeholders as well as the facilitation of team/stakeholder meetings as required.The successful candidate will possess excellent customer relationship skills, negotiations, team work skills, strong business acumen, demonstrated leadership skills, strategic thinking skills, project management skills, strong computer skills and excellent written and oral communication skills. This position is located at 1001 Queen Street West.Key AccountabilitiesLead and execute project work streams as assigned by the Project Director and/or Senior Project ManagerHold accountability for project management and coordination on assigned projects within the Redevelopment Office PortfolioIdentify, document, and provide mitigation strategies for potential project risks and issues of importance and escalate to Project Director and/or Senior Project Manager as appropriateFacilitate all aspects of project team meetings including scheduling, development of agenda, leading meeting, and meeting minutes, ensuring follow-up of action items identifiedAttend and participate in external stakeholder meetings as required to fulfill responsibilities, and prepare meeting minutes, ensuring follow-up of action items identifiedWork with and manage on-site contractors, design teams and other consultants to manage project risk, update risk register and deal proactively with issues that ariseUpdating and maintaining project data bases on e-Builder, MS Sharepoint, and other platforms as requiredAssist the Project Director and Senior Project Manager on all areas required for project successPrimary Duties And ResponsibilitiesSupport technical oversight of the project focusing on mechanical, electrical, IT, structural, acoustics etc.Develop work plans for project work streams as assigned by the Project Director and/or Senior Project ManagerManage the coordination of contract administration of assigned construction projects, including:Track, document and be accountable for responses to Requests for Information (RFI’s) and hospital submittals using e-Builder platformCoordination and issuance of Site InstructionsCoordination and assistance with change management Conduct Site Reviews/Inspections and preparing associated reports including project issues logReview and assess progress against construction schedule and compliance with contractual documentsReview, develop, and/or deliver reports, communications, and presentations (in written, verbal, or graphical form)Review of design and construction documents, including drawings and technical specificationsPlay an active role in the development and review of performance output specifications and other design data associated with typical P3 projects Play an active role in the development and review of purchase orders, Request for Qualifications (RFQ), Request for Proposals (RFP) and Project Agreement (PA) associated with typical P3 projectsAssist with the preparation of Ministry of Health capital planning submissions Job RequirementsEducation/Specific Training:Post-secondary degree in architecture, engineering, or related disciplineWorking knowledge of project schedules, budgets, technical requirements, contract structure and other matters pertaining to project planning and implementationExperience5-7 years of progressive experience playing a key role in large scale ($50M+), complex healthcare infrastructure projects.Previous work experience with a general contractor is preferred as is a thorough knowledge of contract management in diverse environmentsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project Demonstrated experience with document storage management via MS SharePoint Experience with document management and tracking with e-Builder considered an assetExperience with MS Projects or Primavera P6 scheduling software considered an assetExperience working with diverse clients and stakeholders JudgementAnalytical problem-solving ability Able to prioritize and manage competing deadlinesAttention to detail, and the ability to synthesize complex dataDemonstrated ability to work independently in a self-directed manner with minimal supervisionCommunication/InterpersonalStrong interpersonal and organizational skillsExcellent oral and written communication skills (e.g. interacting and gathering requirements, presentations, report writing)Strong organization skills; able to receive tasks from supervisor and formulate logical sequence of activities to achieve the task.
