Job TitleProject Manager – Tram Systems & Passenger Information – Ridderkerk, NetherlandsThe PositionWe are seeking a Project Manager to lead a multidisciplinary engineering effort focused on tram door systems and passenger information technologies for public transport in Amsterdam.You will manage a diverse team of engineers and coordinate with international partners to deliver high-quality solutions in a complex, regulated environment. The position requires strong leadership, cross-cultural communication, and a solid understanding of project management methodologies.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the engineering scope for tram door overhaul and passenger information systemsManage subsystem/component development across software and hardware domainsDefine and monitor project milestones, risks, and deliverablesGuide and support the engineering team throughout the development lifecycleMaintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholdersEnsure compliance with project management processes and quality standardsReport progress, issues, and resolutions to senior managementYour ProfileMinimum 3 years of experience as a subsystem/component manager, project manager, or operational leadProven experience working in multinational environmentsStrong project management and team leadership skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder management abilitiesFamiliarity with railway systems and products is an advantageIPMA Level C certification (or equivalent) is desirableKnowledge of structured project management methodologiesAbility to work approximately 3 days per week on-site in Ridderkerk (15km away from Rotterdam)Working ConditionsMobility program (ex: lease car)Competitive vacation policy (up to 37 days)Access to training, certifications, and internal knowledge-sharing initiatives (ALTEN Academy)Hybrid working model with on-site presence in RidderkerkCollaborative international environmentIf you’re ready to take on a leadership role in a technically challenging and meaningful public transport initiative, we welcome your application.
