Job Description

Main Responsibilities:Sourcing·      Work with the team for the company’s sourcing initiatives to find qualified suppliers worldwide.·      Find suppliers for all BAMKO product categories, such as plastic toys, plush toys, apparel, headwear, home textiles, bags, stainless steel, glassware, silicone items, electronic items, gifts and premiums, printed goods/packaging, etc.Product Cost/Quotation·      Obtain product cost quotations from multiple suppliers and negotiate costs·      Be able to quote quickly, sometimes within several hours when needed·      Enter product cost data into Core (a BAMKO IT system), calculate delivered cost (DDP), and communicate costs to US Project Managers·      Understand duty rates and find suppliers in countries with more favorable duty ratesProduct Development and Sampling·      Work with the US PM to develop products as required by clients·      Work with the supplier to recommend product options·      Obtain samples·      Review samples and request changes if needed·      Communicate sample status and sample quality to the US PM·      Implement design changes requested by the client and resample when needed·      Arrange Pre-Production and Testing Samples with the factoryProduction Management·      Communicate spec, quantity, quality and testing requirements, client expectations, and delivery timeline to the supplier and place POs to the factory·      Request deposits to be paid to the factory from the finance team·      Work with QC team on the QC checklist and discuss the QC checklist with the factory to ensure they understand our requirements·      Arrange Product Testing and work with factory for proper testing samples·      Go to the factories as needed to monitor production·      Manage the production timeline with the factory·      Coordinate production samples·      Coordinate QC inspections with the factory and visit the factory periodically to assist with QC inspections and issues·      Help to foresee risks and proactively find solutions to solve the issues during production·      Be the primary negotiator with the factory for all issues and always keep BAMKO’s interests ahead of the factory’s interests·      Work with the logistics team and factory to arrange the shipment to deliver on time, based on the client’s requirements·      Ensure that all shipments have been tested, have passed QC inspection, and depart the factory per the schedule·      Follow up with finance for balance payments to the factorySupplier Development·      Visit new suppliers to create a relationship and provide an analysis to BAMKO Global Sourcing management·      Arrange third party factory audits when necessary·      Onboard new factories, and ensure new factories agree to BAMKO’s payment terms and terms and conditions of business·      Explain BAMKO and SGC’s legal agreements to the factories and have the factories sign the legal documents·      Train suppliers to comply with BAMKO’s processes and procedures·      Negotiate with suppliers to solve problemsOther Requirements·      Be an excellent negotiator·      Know how to effectively manage stress and resolve problems·      Be a good communicator and highlight issues and proposed solutions to the team·      Use the company’s internal system (Core) for daily operation of quotes, orders, and all related activities; keep the system updated on time with the most current information·      Update Core’s time tracker daily·      Work with multiple departments in the company to accomplish our goals·      Be fast with quoting, communications, travel to factories, etc·      Have flexibility to work and communicate with others in the evenings, on weekends, etc·      Resolve customer complaints with the supplier and negotiate remediesQualifications:·      Education:College Degree·      Experience:5 years plus experience working in international trading; experience working for an American importer is preferred·      Fluency in English is required·     The ability to listen and speak Mandarin Chinese is preferable·      Able to use a PC, Microsoft Office, and BAMKO’s Core system (we will provide training)·      Possess high ethical standards, avoid conflicts of interest, and abide by the company’s Anti-Corruption and Anti-Bribery Policy and Code of Conduct Policy·      Strong communication skills and good problem solver, and the ability to work under pressure·      Have the ability to manage multiple suppliers and projects simultaneously·      Be able to travel to the factory and work from an international location when necessary    Who is BAMKO?BAMKO is one of the top 10 largest companies in the branded merchandise space and the fastest growing of any of the top 50 companies in the $25 billion dollar industry.
