Data Centre – Project ManagerAbout The Role An exciting newly created position is now available for a Project Manager to join our team in Sydney. You will plan and track the progression of assigned projects within the Data Centre sector (may also include exposure to other Commercial real estate sectors, including Industrial and / or Retail sectors). Managing stakeholders from the initial development of the client brief through to the execution of projects, you will ensure a smooth and timely progress of high value, complex projects.About You You will be long term career focused and a highly motivated individual with a can-do-attitude. Key Responsibilities·       Establishment and ongoing management of projects (up to $10M).·       Responsible for delivering high quality projects, according to the Kaipara PM Framework and providing guidance to junior staff.·       Leadership and mentoring of junior staff and assisting new recruits.·       Assisting the senior management team with process improvement and innovation.·       Promotion of the Kaipara brand.·       Assist with preparation of business development submissions.·       Project planning and design: Work with stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, and budgets. Manage the development / co-ordination of detailed architectural and engineering designs.·       Procurement and construction: Oversee vendor selection and contract negotiation. Manage procurement of long-lead items and provide on-site oversight to ensure construction adheres to plans, schedules, and operating & safety standards.·       Team and stakeholder management: Act as the primary liaison between technical teams, contractors, vendors, and clients. Lead regular status meetings and provide executive-level updates.·       Budget and schedule management: Track project expenditure, manage cost forecasts, and ensure projects stay on schedule and within financial constraints.·       Risk and compliance: Implement and maintain risk registers and contingency plans. Ensure all infrastructure complies with internal standards, regulatory requirements, and sustainability targets. Manage change control processes and quality assurance checks.·       Technical oversight: Ensure all systems and infrastructure meet design specifications, compliance standards, and operational requirements for critical elements like power, cooling, and security. Qualifications & Technical Skills·       Degree level qualification in building surveying, mechanical engineering, electrical, project management or equivalent construction related degree.·       Industry recognized professional qualification, such as RICS, COIB, AIPM (CPPM), PMP.·       Proficient in MS Office and MS Project.·       3 to 5 years’ construction/development industry experience. Data Centre experience essential.·       Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role managing projects / programs.·       Procurement and management of design consultants including cost planners and certifiers.·       Industry specific training in contracts, procurement, PMBOK·     Kaipara provides the opportunity to work in highly engaged team and build a long-term career working on interesting, challenging and varied projects.·     Excellent leadership, communication and negotiation skills.·     Proficiency in managing complex projects from start to finish.·     Ability to coordinate multiple teams, including engineering, construction and operations.·     Knowledge of data centre infrastructure, including power, cooling and security systems are essential.Please contact David Hopper via email dhopper@kaipara.com.au for further details.
