Technical Project Manager📍 Location: Eindhoven region (Netherlands) 🕒 Employment Type: Full-time 🗓️ Contract Type: Long-term (with potential for permanent employment) ✈️ Relocation support availableAbout the Role:Are you excited by large-scale technical projects, automation, and the challenge of building something new?Our client is a fast-growing production company in FMCG, currently expanding its operations across multiple locations in the Netherlands. To support this growth, a new Technical Support team is being built and this role plays a key part in shaping how technical projects are delivered across the organization.As a Technical Project Manager, you will lead impactful CAPEX and improvement projects focused on automation, mechanisation, and operational excellence. Think: modern production lines, new technologies, standardisation across sites, and future-proof technical solutions.This is not a “maintain what exists” role. It’s about building, improving, and scaling, together with engineers, operations, and external partners.The team is being formed, therefore this position entails responsibility, visibility, and room to grow. It requires ownership, but in return offers a unique opportunity to develop with the organisation.If you enjoy hands-on project ownership, technical complexity, and seeing your work make a real impact on production every day, this is a role where you can truly leave your mark.Key Responsibilities:Prepare and manage technical project plans (scope, planning, budget, risks).Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams across engineering, maintenance, operations, and external contractors.Lead the technical development of project solutions and review designs.Monitor project progress, quality, and budgets, and report deviations.Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal standards.Manage technical documentation and hand over projects to the operational and maintenance organization.Identify and implement improvements in project execution, methodologies, and processes.Support initiatives related to automation, mechanisation, and continuous improvement.Requirements:A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a comparable technical field.A combination of technical education and business/operations insight is a strong plus.At least 5 years of experience managing technical projects in a production or industrial environment (e.g. food, FMCG, process industry, manufacturing).Proven experience with CAPEX projects, preferably involving automation, mechanisation, production lines, or technical installations.Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g. Prince2, PMBOK, Agile), combined with a pragmatic, hands-on execution style.Experience working closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, and external suppliers/contractors — you feel comfortable on the shop floor as well as in project meetings.Affinity with continuous improvement and operational excellence (Lean, Six Sigma, TPM/WCM or similar improvement programs are a strong advantage).Able to read, assess, and challenge technical drawings, designs, and engineering documentation.Strong communication skills: you can translate technical complexity into clear decisions, backed by data and facts, and act as a sparring partner for stakeholders at different levels.A hands-on, curious mindset with a genuine interest in technology, innovation, and improving how things work — not just delivering a project, but making it better.Fluent in Dutch (mandatory) and English (spoken and written).Fluent Afrikaans speakers with strong English skills are also encouraged to apply.Valid EU work authorisation (visa support possible for non-EU candidates).We Offer:Long-term contract (38 hours/week) with the possibility of permanent employment.Monthly gross salary: €5,500 – €6,800 (based on experience and education).25 paid vacation days + paid public holidays.Holiday allowance of 8.33%, paid annually.Travel reimbursement.Relocation support (if applicable), including:Assistance with first housingRelocation bonusSupport with BSN, banking, insurance, and onboardingWork permit and visa assistance (if applicable).Personal guidance from Xelvin and access to a strong technical network in the Netherlands.Want to know more about this opportunity?
