Job Description

Our client seeks a Senior Project Manager to be responsible for the successful end-to-end delivery of complex engineering and construction projects across their portfolio. On offer is a full time permanent roleThis includes managing project scope, budget, schedule, procurement, safety, and quality outcomes.The role requires strong leadership, effective stakeholder engagement, and robust project governance to ensure projects are delivered in line with client expectations and company objectives.The Senior Project Manager will work on a rotational basis, spending one week on site followed by one week off. Standard site hours apply during the on-site week.Flexibility is required depending on project demands, which may include occasional overtime, travel, or extended site presence during key delivery phases or urgent matters.Upon completion of the project, the Senior Project Manager will be demobilised and return to their home office in West Perth.The role requires proactive time management to ensure project milestones are achieved and resources are effectively coordinated across all phases of delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesLead assigned projects with accountability for planning, execution, and delivery, maintaining a strong presence on site.Develop and maintain detailed project execution plans, schedules, and deliverables to ensure seamless project progress.Monitor project performance, proactively manage risks, and implement corrective actions to maintain quality, safety, and schedule objectives.Oversee tendering, contract award, procurement, and management of equipment and subcontractor packages.Collaborate closely with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure effective coordination and project delivery.Uphold the companies standards for professional conduct, safety, and operational excellence.Travel to and work on project sites as required, complying with all site-specific HSE and operational requirements.Perform additional duties as required to support the successful delivery of projects and company objectivesStakeholder and Contract ManagementAct as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and subcontractors.Manage key interfaces across engineering, fabrication, logistics, commissioning, and site operations.Lead client and contractor meetings, prepare progress reports, and manage commercial performance.Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, project specifications, and safety standards.Foster collaborative relationships across stakeholders to achieve project goals.Perform any other duties as directedInterface CoordinationCoordinate closely with engineering, workshop, and commissioning teams.Ensure timely delivery of equipment and services, resolving technical or commercial issues proactively.Any other duties as directedAct as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing concerns, providing progress updates, and ensuring client satisfaction.Develop and deliver CAPEX proposalsMonthly and weekly report submission to clientTeam Leadership and DevelopmentProvide leadership to assigned project teams, including Project Engineers and support staff.Mentor junior staff and contribute to team capability development and performance.Promote a collaborative and high-performance culture within project teamsIdentify training and upskilling opportunities aligned with project needs.Perform any other duties as directed.Direct reports: Construction manager, project engineers, HSE advisor and subcontractorsRequired Qualifications5-10 years' experience in project delivery roles within the resources, mining, or infrastructure sectors.Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management, or related field.Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary project teams in a similar environment.Essential SkillsProven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide multidisciplinary teams on site.Extensive experience managing the full project lifecycle, from concept through to commissioning and handover.Strong knowledge of commercial contracts, procurement, and construction methodologies relevant to site-based projects.Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.Proficiency in project management software and tools for planning, scheduling, and reporting.Ability to manage competing priorities, make decisions under pressure, and deliver projects on time and within budget.Strong problem-solving and risk management capabilities in dynamic project environmentsAbout UsZeal Personnel is a leading labour hire and recruitment company, operated by industry professionals with extensive experience who truly understand the unique demands of their clients.
