Friendship is looking for Project Officer - Ecosystem and LivelihoodJob Description / ResponsibilityResponsible for:Lead field-level planning, implementation and monitoring of ecosystem and livelihood interventions.Organize trainings and refresher courses on alternative income-generating activities, climate-smart agriculture, youth entrepreneurship and integrated farming.Facilitate women and youth skills development for alternative livelihood and business start-up support.Coordinate and ensure distribution of alternative livelihood items (e.g., livestock, seeds, tools).Demonstrate saline-tolerant crops, organic pest management, soil fertility improvement, and integrated farming practices.Conduct and supervise pilots on sustainable aquaculture and integrated farming to assess viability and scalability.Lead capacity-building programs for community members on mangrove seed collection, nursery establishment and plantation management.Supervise and monitor mangrove nursery development, sapling plantation and post-plantation nursing and protection.Collaborate with the Water Resources Officer and technical experts to align land and water management for agriculture protection (e.g., cross-drain alignment and salinity control).Ensure gender-sensitive and inclusive participation in all field interventions.Maintain strong liaison with Local Government Institutions, Forest Department, Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, and relevant academic/research institutions/experts.Ensure proper documentation, data collection, field reports and progress updates.Support baseline surveys, evaluations, and research studies to measure project impact.Perform any other duties assigned by the Programme Manager or Sector Specialist.Activities:Conduct community consultations and mobilization sessions to ensure ownership of interventions.Form and strengthen community groups, youth groups, women groups and Polder Management Committees.Implement training and demonstration on:Climate-smart agriculture and saline-tolerant cropsOrganic pest management and soil fertility improvementSustainable aquaculture and integrated farmingLivelihood diversification and business developmentCoordinate the distribution of livelihood assets and monitor progress and impact.Facilitate and monitor mangrove restoration activities (seed collection, nursery, plantation, maintenance).Coordinate cross-sector collaboration with government departments and technical institutions.Maintain effective communication with the Programme Manager and technical specialists.Educational RequirementsBachelor of Science (BSc) in AgricultureBachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Aquaculture, Forestry, Fisheries, Livelihood Development, or a related field.Experience Requirements3 to 5 year(s)Additional Requirements3–5 years of relevant experience in implementing ecosystem restoration, livelihood development or climate-smart agriculture projects.Proven experience in community mobilization, training facilitation and stakeholder coordination.Strong understanding of coastal ecosystems, integrated farming systems and nature-based solutions.Experience in working with local government, Forest, Agriculture and Fisheries departments.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a participatory and inclusive approach.Proficiency in MS Office and reporting tools.Strong problem-solving, leadership and time-management skills.Ability to work in remote coastal areas and under challenging conditions.Fluency in both Bangla and English (written and spoken).Job LocationKhulna (Paikgachha)
