Avondale executes financial transactions that use capital as a tool for advancing the energy transition in traditional and emerging industries.Role DescriptionWe are looking for a Property & Casualty Commercial Underwriter to help manage the firm's growth in our wholly-owned insurance entities (managing general agent and / or insurance wholesaler) in the United States.Key responsibilities:Underwrites day-to-day transactions in assigned specialty programsCoordinates underwriting, pricing, and loss control activitiesImproves existing insurance programs and underwriting methodologiesImplements and improves underwriting program guidelines and ensures complianceSupports broker relationshipsSupports carrier & reinsurance relationshipsMonitors performance metrics and prepares reportsDrives the business towards profitable underwriting growthSupport and lead special projects as neededQualificationsUndergraduate degree + 7-15+ years of relevant professional experience underwirting commerical programs in the United StatesTargeted Capabilities Demonstrated professional capabilities in commerical insurance underwriting in a professional settingFocus on process and governanceDriven to constantly improveAttention to detailEfficiency focusedComfortable operating around a fast-paced transaction-driven environmentDemonstrated curiosity in developing solutions to unsolved problemsWorking arrangements: We have offices across the United States.Avondale is an equal opportunity employer
