We encourage talented people from all backgrounds, abilities, and identities to apply to our vacancies, and will consider adjustments to support such applications.About The RoleThe Psychology Registrar position (Clinical Psychology / Clinical Neuropsychology / Forensic Psychology) forms part of the PYMHWS Entry Level Program (ELP), a structured and well-supported learning program within a clinical practice environment. This two year, fixed term role supports early career psychologists in developing a thorough understanding of a broad range of mental health presentations, as well as the psychological assessment and intervention skills required to work effectively in a public mental health setting. It also supports registrars in attaining specialist skills to work towards the relevant area of practice endorsement.What You'll DoProvide evidence-based and phase-specific assessments and/or interventions to young people with mental health difficulties, including relevant clinical case management and psychological therapy.Work within a supportive, specialist, multidisciplinary team environment.Be responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating appropriate treatment plans for young people and their families/carers.Carry a caseload of clients, participate in clinical review meetings and practice according to the philosophy and protocols of the service.Consolidate your learning through professional development and other learning activities.About You✔️ Completion of a Masters or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology / Clinical Neuropsychology or Forensic Psychology (as relevant).✔️ Registration as a Psychologist under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act (2009) by the program start date, with eligibility to enter a registrar program as a Clinical, Forensic or Clinical Neuropsychologist (as relevant) with the Psychology Board of Australia.✔️ Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with young people and their families.✔️ Capacity to provide case management.✔️ Ability to develop, implement and evaluate client-centred individual service plans, risk assessments, and diagnostic formulations.✔️ Knowledge of the rationale and evidence base for early intervention in mental illness.✔️ Ability to work independently and effectively within a multidisciplinary team, with evidence of sound collaboration and conflict resolution skills.Ready to Make a Difference?If you're looking to be part of something truly meaningful—we’d love to hear from you.For a confidential discussion, contact Dr Louise McCutcheon, Principal Psychology Educator, louise.mccutcheon@pymhws.org.auInterested applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
