Job Description

PURPOSEThis position is responsible for leading and optimize the procurement function for a unit by sourcing quality goods and services at the best value, ensuring timely availability to meet operational needs. The role focuses on developing strong vendor relationships, enforcing compliance with procurement policies, and driving cost efficiency while supporting overall business objectives.REPORTS TOBusiness Head| General Manager PurchaseINTERACTS WITHExternal: Vendors, Consultants, Service Providers, Statutory Authorities, and Contractors.Internal: Senior Leadership, Finance, Projects, Engineering, Operations, and Administration Teams.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESDrive Operational ExcellenceOversee end-to-end procurement operations including vendor identification, negotiation, contracting, and timely delivery.Ensure adherence to standardized procurement procedures and maintain rigorous documentation for audit readiness.Streamline purchase workflows to minimize lead times and avoid operational disruptions.Applied LearningContinuously track market trends, new suppliers, and technological advancements in procurement to improve sourcing strategies.Introduce best practices and innovative solutions to enhance supplier performance and cost efficiency.Train relevant stakeholders on procurement processes, compliance requirements, and vendor management protocols.People & Vendor ManagementBuild and maintain long-term, strategic vendor relationships to secure favorable terms and reliable supply.Collaborate with internal departments to accurately forecast material requirements.Lead supplier evaluation programs to ensure consistent quality, cost-effectiveness, and service levels.Business & Financial AcumenDevelop and monitor procurement budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.Negotiate contracts to maximize value while minimizing financial and operational risks.Present monthly procurement dashboards including spend analysis, savings achieved, supplier performance metrics, and forecasted requirements.LeadershipCollaborate with senior management to align procurement strategies with overall business objectives.Lead policy rollouts, system upgrades, and strategic sourcing initiatives that drive competitive advantage.Uphold integrity, ethics, and confidentiality in all procurement dealings while mentoring junior team members where applicable.Compliance & Risk ManagementEnsure all procurement activities comply with statutory laws, organizational policies, and ethical standards.Maintain supplier records, contracts, and correspondence to meet internal and external audit requirements.Identify and mitigate supply chain risks through contingency planning.Occupational Health & Safety ResponsibilitiesEnsure suppliers comply with organizational and legal OH&S standards.Work with suppliers to identify and eliminate potential workplace safety hazards in the supply chain.Monitor compliance with safety protocols during delivery, handling, and storage of goods.WORK EXPERIENCEJOB REQUIREMENTS / HIRING PROFILEQUALIFICATIONSDegree/ Postgraduate degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related fieldWORK EXPERIENCEMinimum 10 years’ proven experience in procurement, vendor management, and strategic sourcing, preferably in hospitality, premium retail, or large-scale operations
