Purchasing CoordinatorReporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for executing and managing purchasing activities to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials, supplies, and services. This role oversees purchase order processing, vendor management, supplier onboarding, and purchasing data within the ERP system. The coordinator supports supplier relationships, expedites orders, coordinates vendor-managed inventory programs, ensures on-time delivery of supply and maintains accurate purchasing records and metrics.As a Purchasing Coordinator You WillProcess and issue purchase orders in accordance with company policy and procedures Set-up and maintain purchasing related master data within the ERP system Manage expedites requests with suppliersManage past due purchase order follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of supply Manage weekly open order reports with key suppliers Maintain purchase order due dates in JDEVendor managed inventory program coordination and relationship management Sourcing of indirect materials including shop and maintenance supplies, personal protective equipment (PPE), hardware, packaging etc.Sourcing services related to maintenance, repair, and other manufacturing related services Administrate the supplier onboarding process Maintain and report on key purchasing metricsMaintain the Purchasing team paper and electronic filing systemsAct as backup to the Supply Chain CoordinatorOther administrative duties as assigned We Are Looking For Someone WhoMinimum of 2 years experience in a similar role Bachelor's degree or college diploma in business or a related disciplineWorking knowledge of ERP/MRP systems required.Advanced computer software skills, MS excel, access, project etc.Ability to multi-task under pressure in a high paced environment.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written in EnglishResults-oriented, self-motivated individual with a sense of initiativeAbility to work independently and as a team player while solving problems and multitasking in a deadline-driven environmentAbility to independently identify and develop solutions to problems that may arise in the course of workAbility to respond effectively to inquiries or comments from internal/external customers and suppliersExcellent knowledge of procurement best practicesResourceful, diplomatic, customer service orientedStrong analytical, decision-making, negotiation, and problem-solving skillsWell-developed organization and prioritization skills; detailed orientedEmbraces changes with a positive attitudeConsistently demonstrates a high degree of business acumen and good judgmentSuccessful experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teamsExcellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and suppliers; able to quickly gain credibility and trustDemonstrates accountability; focused on meeting goals and deliverables on time and at the highest quality level possibleIs client-centric; proactively anticipates and actions internal customers’ needsSuccessfully establishes and maintains long-term relationships with colleagues and suppliersMust be highly focused and able to work with minimal supervisionAPICS Certified Supply Chain Professional and/or Certified in Production and Inventory Management, SCMA Certified Supply Chain Professional or other supply chain related designation an asset What We Offer YouTypical pay is $45,000 – 58,000 annually.Please note the pay information shown above is a general guideline.
