Career OpportunityRole TitleQuality Assurance LeadPurpose of roleReporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Assurance (QA) Lead will be responsible for the planning, monitoring and control of assigned project testing activities and tasks as well as the creation of various testing artifacts. The QA Lead will work closely with Project Managers, Business Analysts, Project Architects, Business Stakeholders, and External Vendors to ensure Foresters Financial Quality Assurance and Testing best practices are followed on projects.Job DescriptionKey ResponsibilitiesProvide overall end-to-end test management support to enable successful project deliveryLead and perform the following tasks on assigned projects:Act as the primary point of contact for Quality Assurance tasksProvide accurate QA effort estimation to Project ManagerAssess testing requirements and identify appropriate resources, processes and tools for the projectDevelop the project test strategy/test plan and provide walkthrough to the project teamWork closely with Business Analysts/Business Systems Analysts/Business Subject Matter Experts in identifying test data and batch cycle plansDevelop test matrices and test case to requirements traceability matricesFacilitate the review of test scenarios and test cases to ensure full testing coverageAct as overall testing liaison and first point of escalation for the project teamManage and coordinate onsite and offshore test efforts for System Integration (SIT), Regression and UAT phasesFacilitate defect review meetingsCommunicate testing progress status/reports to project and management teamsProvide guidance to business test teams in identifying/developing test conditions and test casesCoordinate UAT executionMaintain and utilize test and defect management tools (HP QC) for test management and traceability/auditing purposesEnsure project deliverables meet business requirements and there are no adverse effects on the existing production business environments.Report testing results and advise of readiness of projects for production implementationRepresent assigned projects at test environment meetingsWork closely with Project Manager and external vendors to deliver projects to time, cost and quality requirementsLead and mentor intermediate QA team members, as well as manage outside contract testers.Ensure customer satisfaction through post implementation review and customer feedbackWork with QA Practice Lead to complete ongoing analysis of industry standard testing tools and methodologies and makes recommendations for improvement in overall Foresters testing practicesKey Qualifications3 to 5 years quality assurance experience in an Life Insurance or software vendor environment3 to 5 years in a QA Lead role engaged in project deliveryExperience with Mainframe, Client –Server, Web and Mobile applications in a complex, integrated environmentExperience with testing applications that rely on overnight batch processesExperience working with Onshore and Offshore development and test teamsExpert knowledge of HP Quality Center/Application Life ManagementWorking knowledge of XML Exposure to RUP, UML and other business analysis techniques, tools and processesAbility to meet deadlines, be a self-starter, and be a quick learnerStrong facilitation and presentation skillsSolid analytical and problem solving skills displayed in the development and execution of test plans and the analysis of system problems and appropriate escalationExcellent communication, documentation and reporting skillsExcellent planning, time management and organizational skillsAbility to be flexible and to adapt to changing circumstancesStrong interpersonal skills and ability to integrate well into internal and external teamsAbility to handle multiple projects and meet project deadlinesLife insurance subject matter expertise (Nice to have)Experience with automated testing tools and establishing an automated testing practice (nice to have)Additional InformationStandard working hours, with occasional overtime hoursFlexibility to participate in calls with offshore resources during non-standard office hoursEqual Opportunity Employment and Inclusion – at Foresters Financial, we are committed to sustaining an equal opportunity environment for all job applicants.
