BASIC FUNCTION The Quality Assurance Manager provides strategic leadership and oversight of the company’s Quality Assurance and Food Safety programs. This role ensures that all products consistently meet customer, regulatory, and industry standards while fostering a strong culture of quality throughout the organization. The QA Manager directs quality initiatives, ensures compliance with certifications and regulations, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Quality Assurance Leadership Develop, implement, and continuously improve food safety and quality assurance procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies. Lead investigations of major non-conformances, customer complaints, and product recalls; oversee root cause analysis and ensure effective corrective and preventive actions. Oversee internal and external audits (regulatory, certification, customer), ensuring readiness and successful compliance. Establish and monitor key quality performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly report findings to management. Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of laboratory testing, calibration, and compliance with Good Laboratory Practices. 2. Strategic & Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Production, Engineering, Logistics, R&D/Innovation, and Marketing to ensure product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance from raw materials to finished goods. Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies (e.g. FDA, HALAL certifying bodies, customers) on all quality-related matters. Provide technical guidance and recommendations to management regarding new processes, regulatory updates, and continuous improvement initiatives. 3. People Management & Development Lead, mentor, and develop the QA team to build technical expertise, leadership capability, and a high-performance culture. Manage department resources, work assignments, and training needs to ensure effective and efficient QA operations. Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous learning across the organization regarding quality and food safety practices. 4. Administration & Compliance Ensure timely approval and release of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished products in compliance with established standards. Review and approve QA documentation, reports, and policies. Drive risk assessments, compliance reviews, and management of change processes to minimize quality risks. Oversee training programs across the plant to strengthen awareness and adherence to food safety and quality standards. QUALIFICATION GUIDES Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology, Nutrition & Dietetics, Chemistry, Microbiology, or related field. Minimum of 5–7 years progressive experience in Quality Assurance within food manufacturing, FMCG, or related industries, with at least 2 years in a supervisory/managerial capacity. Strong knowledge of food safety, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance practices. Proven leadership, people management, and conflict-resolution skills. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration and external stakeholder engagement. Proficiency in quality assurance systems, audits, and documentation.
