Quality Assurance SpecialistLos Angeles, CA Full-Time $70-100k Salary + Benefits Health Insurance, Paid Time Off, Dental, 401K About the Role We are seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to join our Quality team at our DTLA office. This role is responsible formanaging and providing documentation required for customer approval of ingredients. They ensure all regulatory files—such as specifications, certifications, and compliance statements—meet U.S. and Canadian food regulations. The specialist will closely collaborate with customers to facilitate smooth onboarding and approval processes. They also maintain accurate records and track approval projects to ensure timely and successful completion.About Us The food business is evolving and moving faster than ever. They want to eat healthy and commit to sustainable food ingredients to preserve our planet for generations to come. Green Boy (www.greenboy.com) helps food manufacturers fulfill this increasing demand by supplying the highest quality non-gmo, plant-based and organic food ingredients on a global scale. Schedule and Work Setting:Full time (40 hours/week) On-Site8 hour shift (training will follow a 9am-5pm schedule, once the training period is complete this role will follow a 8am-4pm schedule)Key Responsibilities:Work directly with customers to facilitate the approval of ingredients by providing complete regulatory documentation, addressing compliance inquiries, and ensuring timely support throughout their approval process.Assist with customer onboarding by preparing documentation packages, ensuring compliance with all U.S. and Canadian food safety and labeling standards, and supporting smooth integration into customer quality systems.Track and manage customer ingredient approval projects from initiation to completion, maintaining accurate records of progress, timelines, and documentation status.Support customer and internal requests for regulatory documentation and technical information in a professional and timely manner.Manage and maintain all regulatory and quality documentation for food ingredients, including specifications, allergen statements, nutritional data, and certificates (e.g., Kosher, Halal, Organic, Non-GMO, etc.).Review and verify supplier documentation to ensure compliance with U.S. FDA, USDA, and Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) requirements.Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to collect, update, and organize regulatory data in a structured document control system.⁠Stay current on U.S. and Canadian labeling regulations, ingredient compliance requirements, and other food regulatory updates that impact product use and approval.Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Supply Chain teams to ensure all imported and distributed products meet applicable regulatory and labeling requirements. Lead periodic reviews of documentation processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Regulatory Affairs, or related discipline.3–5 years of experience in regulatory affairs, documentation management, or quality assurance within the food, ingredient, or flavor industry.Strong working knowledge of FDA, USDA, and CFIA food regulations, including labeling, additives, and ingredient standards.Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.Strong communication and collaboration skills with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.Proficiency in document management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
