Winchester, KYDirect HireSalary: Up to $70,000.00 per year (Depending on Experience)Job SummaryWe are seeking a Quality Control Engineer to support and maintain our quality standards and processes. This role will interface with customers regarding quality issues, lead scrap reduction activities, manage gauge control systems, and provide training and support across departments. The ideal candidate promotes teamwork, safety, and a strong quality culture.Essential FunctionsSupport the development and maintenance of the Quality SystemServe as the primary contact for customer quality issues, including claimsAnalyze customer reject product (warranty, field, or plant-level) and prepare detailed reportsInvestigate quality defects in the manufacturing process and lead corrective actions to prevent recurrenceLead countermeasure meetings and support implementation of corrective, preventive, and continuous improvement actionsManage gauge calibration and recall systems according to AIAG Measurement System Analysis (MSA), including:Repairing or reworking precision gaugesDetermining appropriate gauges for specific measurement applicationsCoordinating with external vendors for gauge/fixture quotesSupporting gauge design with internal/external teamsConduct internal process audits to reduce quality risksPrepare and maintain reports for internal and external quality status and process performanceFollow applicable quality standards including PPAP, MSA, APQP, and other industry guidelinesTravel as needed to customer sites to perform reject product analysisTrain quality technicians and inspectors as requiredDevelop inspection standards for receiving, in-process, shipping, and layout inspectionsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Quality Engineering and 3 years of experience in the quality field; ORMaster’s degree in Quality Engineering and 2 years of experience; OR8 years of exempt-level experience in the quality fieldKnowledge of machining, heat treatment, metallurgy, gauge development, and gauge controlUnderstanding of non-destructive testing related to raw materials, heat treatment, and weldingASQ Certified Quality Technician preferredAbility to read and interpret blueprintsProficiency with SPC data and collectionExperience with CMMKnowledge of gauge calibration and tracking systemsStrong verbal and written communication skillsProficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access)We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses.
