Provision of new-build construction facilitiesNational tier 2 engineering & construction groupDiverse project portfolio across Defence, mining, energy, marine & infrastructureExciting opportunity for an experienced Quality Coordinator to drive quality assurance and project delivery on major new-build facilities within a growing national engineering and construction group.Our client, is a solutions-driven engineering, construction and remediation business specialising in the protection, remediation and enhancement of steel and concrete structures. They provide whole-of-life engineering, construction and maintenance services with a strong focus on sustainably extending the life of the built environment.Operating across nationally our client delivers projects across Defence, mining, energy, marine, infrastructure, and building and facades sectors. They are on a strong growth trajectory and now have an excellent opportunity for a Quality Coordinator to join their Canberra team. You will essentially be trained up to be a HOTO Engineer.You’ll lead quality assurance and project delivery across construction and commissioning phases, ensuring compliant handover, system readiness, and alignment with safety and performance standards. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you’ll manage inspections, documentation, and testing to support seamless transitions and operational excellence.As it is working in the defence sector, Australian Citizenship is required.Key Responsibilities will include:Quality and Compliance Oversight • Support the approval and execution of the Quality Management Plan • Ensure Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) meet project and quality standards • Conduct and supervise routine inspections, audits, and checks • Monitor compliance with ISO 9001, QMS and project-specific quality protocols • Review method statements for quality and safety alignment • Organise third-party and non-destructive testing (NDT) as requiredDocumentation and Reporting • Maintain accurate site records for project close-out and handover • Control quality-related documentation and ensure proper record-keeping • Track deliverables including test reports, warranties and certificates • Compile and submit monthly progress reports to stakeholders • Construct and manage O&M manuals in line with contractual and regulatory standardsCoordination and Communication • Align quality activities with construction schedules • Facilitate timely RFIs/TQs and submission of quality deliverables • Liaise with consultants, subcontractors and project teams for smooth transitions • Assist in commissioning and handover strategies, including inspections and testingContinuous Improvement and Training • Promote quality awareness and conduct training workshops • Perform audits on subcontractors and track corrective actions • Resolve quality issues and nonconformities through corrective measures • Contribute to ongoing improvement of the Quality Management SystemAbout You: • 3 to 5 years+ experience in engineering and project delivery roles, preferably on large-scale infrastructure or industrial projects • Experience in Defence projects is desirable but not essential • Strong understanding of QMS management, commissioning and documentation control • Excellent communication and coordination skills • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities • Familiarity with ISO 9001, relevant industry standards and regulatory requirementsQualifications & Requirements: • Tertiary qualification in Engineering – Civil, Mechanical or Electrical • Lead Auditor qualification (desirable) • Australian Citizenship (required) • Current Police Clearance (or ability to obtain) • White Card • Current Driver’s LicenceThis is a permanent full-time position providing a great opportunity to work with a successful and growing organisation who offer challenging work and the potential for career progression.
