Job Description

Summary:The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that products, processes, and systems meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. This role supports the design, manufacturing, and field teams by developing and maintaining quality assurance processes, conducting root cause analyses, implementing corrective actions, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.The ideal candidate will be analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive in identifying risks and improvement opportunities. The Quality Engineer will serve as a bridge between Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Field Service to ensure that customer expectations are consistently exceeded.Accountabilities:Support and maintain the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO and industry standardsDevelop and update inspection procedures, control plans, and work instructions to ensure consistent product qualityOversee and validate effectiveness of first article inspections (FAI), in-process audits, and final inspections to verify product conformanceReview and approve supplier and manufacturing documentation for accuracy and complianceAssist with internal, supplier, and customer audits to ensure adherence to regulatory and contractual requirementsLead, document and close out root cause investigations for nonconformances, customer complaints, and audit findingsDevelop, implement, and verify corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence of issues affecting qualityFacilitate problem-solving using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Analysis, FMEA, 8D, and statistical techniquesCollect, analyze, and report quality metrics (defect rates, rework, scrap, supplier performance, etc.)Partner with cross-functional teams to identify and execute Lean and Six Sigma initiativesSupport process capability studies, measurement system analysis, and other data-driven evaluationsRecommend design or process changes to improve product reliability, manufacturability, and efficiencyCollaborate with Supply Chain, Engineering and Operations to evaluate supplier performance and drive improvementsSupport manufacturing teams with quality-related issues including training, documentation, and process controlDesign processes that ensure that materials, components, and assemblies meet technical and contractual requirementsAssist with new product introductions (NPI) to ensure quality is built into every stage of design and productionServe as a quality representative for customer interactions, audits, and field issue resolutionProvide timely and professional communication regarding quality issues and resolutionsPartner with Field Service and Engineering to evaluate and resolve field performance or warranty concernsReasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
