Quantitative Analyst / DeveloperLocation: Lugano, SwitzerlandOverviewSeeking a Quantitative Analyst / Developer to join an innovative energy trading team focused on short-term power markets. The successful candidate will be responsible for building fundamental models, creating trading algorithms, and developing analytical tools to support forecasting and market decision-making.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and develop fundamental models to analyse power markets dynamics and drivers.Design, implement, and maintain trading algorithms to capitalise on short-term power market opportunities.Create and develop quantitative models using Python to support forecasting, valuation, and risk management.Analyse market data and forecast price and volume movements in short-term power markets, including day-ahead and intraday segments.Collaborate with trading and risk teams to deliver actionable insights and improve trading strategies.Maintain and enhance modeling infrastructure and toolkits for real-time market analysis.Validate and backtest models to ensure robustness and accuracy in live trading conditions.Required Skills and Experience3 to 5 years of experience in quantitative analysis or development within energy markets, preferably short-term power markets.Strong programming skills in Python; experience with scientific and data libraries is essential.Proven ability to build forecasting and pricing models related to energy markets fundamentals.Comfortable working in a fast-paced trading environment with core working hours and some flexibility.Experience working with market fundamentals, forecasting, and algorithmic development for short-term power markets.Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.If this is something that interests you, get in touch!Hamish
