And so much more.   Come break through with us. Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.Role PurposeWe are seeking a highly skilled and innovative R&D Supervisor for the Micro-Optics team to lead the development, integration, and optimization of micro-optics measurement solutions for Co-Packaged Optics (CPO) connectivity.This role requires a deep understanding of optical systems, photonics, and semiconductor packaging, with a strong focus on advancing cutting-edge technologies.Key Responsibilities Supervise a team of experts working on projects related to processes, technology, and the development of measurement methods in the field of micro-optics. Oversee related equipment and clean box installations; knowledge of cleanroom standards is an asset. Collaborate with global research and technology organizations, external suppliers, and support the transfer and implementation of new technologies into manufacturing environments. Develop and implement rigorous testing, characterization, and quality assurance processes. Research and analyze emerging trends in fiber and micro-optic technologies with whole communication and application system understanding Stay informed about the latest metrological technologies and measurement techniques to ensure measurement capabilities align with technical roadmaps. Drive innovation by filing patent applications, publishing scientific papers, and delivering presentations. Requirements Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Optics, Photonics, Physics, Micromechanics, Metrology, or a related field, with preference for optics/micro-optics background. Minimum 3 years of supervisory or project leadership experience. Strong skills in statistical analysis, structured problem-solving, and development of measurement technologies. Expertise in project planning, laboratory techniques (e.g., optical fiber coupling, beam alignment, precision instruments), and familiarity with optical simulation software and micromechanics. Exceptional attention to detail, data-driven approach, excellent communication skills, and fluency in English and Polish. A job that shapes a life. Corning offers you the total package.
