Job SummaryThe RAN Engineer (Monitoring & Support) will be responsible for day-to-day monitoring of the mobile network, identifying issues, and supporting troubleshooting activities for 2G/3G/4G/5G Radio Access Network elements. The role focuses on maintaining network quality, ensuring service availability, and working closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to resolve network problems.Key Responsibilities Network Monitoring & First-Level Support:Monitor RAN alarms, KPIs, and network performance using OSS/NMS tools.Identify outages, degradations, and service issues in real time.Perform initial troubleshooting for RAN nodes (BTS, NodeB, eNodeB, gNodeB).Escalate issues to senior engineers or field teams when required.Track and follow up on open incidents until resolution. Performance & Quality Checks:Review daily RAN KPIs and highlight abnormal trends or drops in quality.Support basic analysis of accessibility, retainability, mobility, and throughput KPIs.Prepare input for network improvement activities. Operations & Maintenance Support:Assist in routine health checks of RAN sites and configurations.Support software upgrades, site integrations, and minor configuration changes.Validate changes and report issues to senior/optimization teams. Coordination & Communication:Work with field engineers, transmission teams, and vendor support to resolve issues.Share updates during outages or critical incidents.Provide technical support during planned maintenance or network events. Documentation & Reporting:Prepare daily and weekly network performance reports.Document troubleshooting steps and incident summaries.Maintain logs for alarms, outages, and configuration changes.Technical SkillsRequired Skills & Knowledge:Basic understanding of LTE/5G and working knowledge of 2G/3G.Familiarity with RAN elements: BBU, RRU/RRH, eNodeB, gNodeB.Exposure to OSS/NMS tools (e.g., Nokia NetAct, Ericsson ENM, Huawei U2000).Basic knowledge of KPIs such as RRC, ERAB, HO, PRB, SINR, and CQI.Understanding of IP basics (VLANs, routing) is an advantage.Soft SkillsGood analytical and problem-solving abilities.Ability to work in shifts or during critical issues.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or similar.1–3 years of experience in RAN monitoring, support, or operations.Telecom vendor/operator experience is an added advantage.About R SystemsWE SPEAK DIGITAL.OverviewFormerly known as Computaris, we are the European branch of R Systems - global technology and analytics services company.We help our clients achieve speed-to-market, overcome digital barriers, and create business value with our specialized service offerings and consultative business approach.
