We help children of all backgrounds, even in the most dangerous places, inspired by our Christian faith.Come join our 33,000+ staff working in nearly 100 countries and share the joy of transforming vulnerable children’s life stories!Key ResponsibilitiesCredit Assessment and ApprovalConduct thorough credit assessments for loan applications by Evaluating the financial health of borrowers by analyzing income, debt levels, and liquidityConduct thorough analysis of financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data to assess the creditworthiness of individuals and businesses.Approve credit facilities based on creditworthiness and risk analysis as per approval level limitsCalls client for verifications to confirm loan and client informationAnalyze all loans that are sent to the head office credit committee for approvalPresenting loans in Head Office Credit Committee (HOCC), preparing minutes & share to members for approval. Send the minutes to branch for filing.DisbursementPlan and coordinate with Branch Manager on disbursements of the dayEnsure loan contracts and disbursement forms are dully filled and signed before disbursementsEnsure disbursement documents list is well prepared, complete and correctCoordinates with Customer relationship officer on Customer Verification and FillingVerify accuracy of information in loan contracts before disbursementDoes customer disbursement check, by observing limitsEnsure that proper exceptions are granted as per credit manual and /or memoEnsure Credit Reference Bureau Reports for clients and guarantors are in placeRegulatory ComplianceEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements in credit assessmentsContribute to the preparation of accurate and timely regulatory reportsStay updated on industry trends, economic indicators, and regulatory changes that may impact credit risk.Submission of credit reference data to the CRB and Central Bank as neededEnsure that credit risk exposures are managed within the established limits in the credit policy and risk appetite statementDocumentation and ReportingEnsure completeness, accuracy and compliance of loan documentationEnsure to capture and register exceptions as listed in the credit hub tracker for performance monitoring purposeRegister all loans returned to branch and update a loan submission trackerInform the branches of all rejected loan application for incomplete information / documentation or poor credit qualityPrepare monthly reports indicating types/nature of discrepancies noted and the responsible branch and customer relationship officer.Assist in the development and implementation of credit policies, procedures, and risk assessment models to improve overall credit managementRegularly identify capacity-limited staff and report or arrange for a refresher training or orientationReport any abnormal cases, fraudulent practices or malpractices or any serious misconducts/behaviors performed by others (peers, subordinates, supervisors etc) to the appropriate person (direct supervisor or senior management team members of VisionFund Zambia). Register the potential fraud in “fraud register system”Identify and report immediately gaps and potential optimization sections for all related manuals/ guidelines (policies, processes/ procedures, tools, forms, reports, etc) of loan origination process.Ensure submission of all regulatory reports and Alignment/Correctness of reports generated by MIS.Prepare daily reports and share to Credit Manager or Chief Credit OfficerCollaborationCollaborate with other departments, such as sales teams, to gather and analyze necessary information for credit evaluationCollaborate with Officers on post-disbursement loan documentation.Work closely with the Credit Manager and Chief Credit officer to implement corrective measures for identified credit risksDevelop and maintain relationships with clients, ensuring clear communication and understanding of credit terms and conditionsDemonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholdersAudit and Compliance ReportsFacilitate & cooperate with audit & Compliance reviewsFollow up on issues raised by Auditors and Risk and Compliance teams as a result of gaps identified due to disbursement gapsReschedule/Restructure/RefinanceMake analyst of submitted proposals for reschedule/restructure/refinance and prepare the loan for HOCCFacilitate completion of restructure/reschedule of loans in core banking system after approvals and ensure clients and guarantors signs the new contractsMiscellaneousUndertake any other duties as assigned by the supervisorRegulatory & Business ConductDisplay exemplary conduct and live by the VFZ’s Values and Code of Conduct.Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across VFZ. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.Take personal responsibility to achieve the outcomes set out in the MFI’s Conduct Principles with respect to Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Operation of Financial Markets; Financial Crime Prevention; The Right Environment.Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.Strong ethical standards and adherence to confidentiality requirements.Effective communication with branches and other stakeholders.Knowledge, Skills And AbilitiesEducationBachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance, Accounting, or related field.Master’s Degree will be added advantageSolid understanding of financial principles, credit regulations, and risk assessment methodologies.ExperienceMinimum of 3 years working experience in credit or operations at field levelBranch management will be added advantageDemonstrated proficiency in financial procedures and applications.Understanding of banking practices and policies.Experience in credit operations and loan assessment.Knowledge & Skills And AbilitiesGood communication, writing & presentation skills.Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Excellent analytical skills.Team working and Interpersonal skillsMust be able to demonstrate sound judgement and initiative with little guidanceApplicant Types AcceptedLocal Applicants Only
