Learn more at www.averydennison.com.Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Regional Environmental Health and Safety Manager to support the Avery Dennison Flooring Adhesive Division including sites in Dalton, GA, Alvarado, TX, and Fontana, CA. In this role, you will participate on our leadership team and report to the Regional Plant Manager and Director of Employee Health and Safety.What you will be doing:Fully Integrate the Flooring Adhesive Division sites into the Avery Dennison EHS Management System, Organizing and controlling the EHS functions of the five facilities (GA - 3, TX - 1, CA - 1) to ensure that an effective accident prevention and regulatory compliance program is maintained.Responsible for overall implementation of EHS with respect to federal, state and local requirements including company specific policies and programs.Integration of Company and facility level EHS management systems to maintain compliance, environmental protection and safe operating conditions.Tracking and regularly reporting the status of regulatory compliance and improvement initiatives.Maintaining OSHA 300 log, form 301, and all other governmental and corporate database records.Organizing and controlling an effective accident prevention program.Investigate all releases, injuries and near-misses to identify root cause and implement corrective actions.Act as the main point of contact regarding OSHA process safety management to ensure overall compliance and coordination of resources related to flammable liquids safety. Coordinating the Job Safety Analysis program and OSHA PPE compliance program and maintaining the SDS system.Conducting periodic inspections of plant machinery, equipment, and working conditions to ensure conformance to appropriate safety and sanitary standards and regulations.Driving continuous improvement and delivering strong results from behavioral based processes.Ensure compliance with environmental permits and regulations including Title V air program, RCRA LQG hazardous waste, general SW programs and annual TRI reporting. Identifying and evaluating hazardous conditions and practices and developing hazard control practices and programs.Reviewing plant incident statistics and making recommendations for correction of problem areas.Conducting periodic risk assessments of plant machinery, equipment, and working conditions to ensure conformance to appropriate safety and sanitary standards and regulations.Provide advice, assist, and audit the front line leadership to ensure that effective EHS is implemented and working.Maintain working relationships with Regulatory Agencies and chair or co- chair and lead the Safety Committees.Maintaining the facility's compliance records for permits. Reviewing Federal, State and local regulation changes that impact permits and permit compliance. Interfacing with regulatory agencies, as needed.Identifying and evaluating hazardous conditions and practices and developing hazard control practices and programs.Supporting and assisting in the tracking of site/corporate sustainability objectives.Help champion health and wellness initiatives.Assist with maintaining the Site Preparedness and Emergency Plans & Procedures.Actively participate in the Corporate EHS Network.Coach, Develop, and Support the other EHS employees within the facilities to achieve the overall environmental, health, and safety goals of the business.Spend significant time engaging with operations personnel to drive a strong, health & safety culture. Serve as a member of the site leadership team and network with peers to drive success and assist the site in attaining its goals. Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering or related field preferredAdvanced professional EHS certification (CSP, CIH, CHMM, QEP, CEA, REM etc.) preferred and experience with behavior-based safety initiative desired.10+ years of EHS leadership experience with progressive work assignments (manufacturing setting preferred)Air permitting, waste management, and stormwater management and reporting experience is a plus.Strong leadership, managerial, training, and mentoring skills.Detailed knowledge of regulatory requirements and EHS policies, procedures and programs.Experience in NFPA 101 life safety codes, NFPA 70E, OSHA & EPA Regulations, .Strong Project/Problem resolution skills.Understanding of applicable computer systems including google based tools.
