KN Asia Pacific mainly operates in Australia, New Zealand, China, India, Thailand, Indonesia, South Korea, Japan and also has presence in other countries in Asia.Overall FunctionKemin is seeking a Regulatory Affairs Manager to lead the APEC region activities focused on petfood and rendering industries. The Regulatory Affairs Manager will work collaboratively with research, operations, marketing functions and other business units of Kemin to create and influence Kemin products to best serve our customers. This position requires knowledge of petfood/feed regulations and regional ingredient approval. Knowledge of other regional country regulatory systems is a plus. The Regulatory Manager will register Kemin products and molecules, monitor and influence regulatory changes, and create content for labels and literature. Knowledge of import and export of goods is also desired.Responsibilities Design and carry the responsibility of regulatory affairs for a growing region of a global company; Assume regulatory compliance for Kemin products and develop regulatory strategies to achieve product registrations on a timely basis in a worldwide capacity; Serve as a Kemin liaison to major regulatory agencies and involved in government agency inspections as needed; Coordinate and conduct training for new employees in the RA area, or for company employees on new regulatory topics (new regulations, legislation); Work with other departments such as, but not limited to, Research & Development, Sales, and Quality Control; Collaborate with other Kemin business units to address any regulatory compliance at manufacturing sites; Initial review of product formulas and product claims for Kemin; Review and approve Marketing/Sales literature for Kemin products; Attend industry meetings; stay current on trends as they affect regulations; Design and implement trial protocols to generate registration data; Some travel to Kemin production, customer or vendor sites as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years’ experience in Animal Protein, Pet Food or Food Production industries; Technical ability to independently design and execute regulatory projects; Engage in building network with trade and regulatory associations; Must be customer service-oriented and work well with varied personalities inside and outside of the corporation; Possess motivation to create solutions to difficult situations with a sense of urgency; Ability to read, write, handle basic math problems; Strong written and oral communication skills; Extensive knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint software.
