The National Institute of Education invites suitable applications for the position of Research Associate on a 7-month contract at the English Language and Literature (ELL) Department.Project Title: Understanding AI prompt literacy as an aspect of Digital LiteracyProject IntroductionThis study aims to characterize participants’ interactions with AI-powered chatbots in order to examine the process of prompt iteration within the context of a specific task or purpose. Currently, besides anecdotal information, there is still little research-based understanding of how people engage with these chatbots in terms of the actual communicative patterns or regarding the metacognitive process of interacting with AI. Yet understanding of this kind is an important prerequisite to developing informed educational approaches to fostering people’s prompt literacy.
