Job Title Full-Time Research Associate Professor, Humanities and Social Sciences Research Centre, Deanship of Research and Graduate Studies.Job DescriptionThe Deanship of Research and Graduate Studies at Ajman University is seeking a highly motivated and accomplished Research Associate Professor to contribute to its diverse research initiatives in the Humanities and Social Sciences Research Centre. The successful candidate will engage in high-quality research, collaborate with faculty and research teams, contribute to publications, and support the centre’s research development.The Research Associate Professor will work on interdisciplinary projects, employ advanced research methodologies, and contribute to securing external research funding. This role provides the opportunity to conduct impactful research, engage in scholarly dissemination through publications and academic events, and collaborate on large-scale research projects.Key ResponsibilitiesResearch & Scholarly Contributions Conduct high-quality research in humanities and social sciences. Develop and participate in interdisciplinary research projects. Publish in top-tier, Scopus-indexed journals, books, and conference proceedings. Contribute to securing research funding through grant proposals.Advanced Research Methodologies & Data Analysis Utilize quantitative and qualitative research methods, integrating digital and computational tools. Apply NVivo for qualitative analysis, Python, R, and SPSS for statistical analysis, and AI-based research tools to enhance research efficiency. Conduct text mining, discourse analysis, and big data analytics for social science research. Implement digital ethnography and computational sociology techniques for studying contemporary societal issues.Teaching & Supervision Supervise and mentor graduate and undergraduate students. Teach undergraduate and graduate courses within the College of Humanities and Sciences Engage in departmental, college, and university service activities. Preparing regular progress reports of his/her tasks as per the requirements.Project & Grant Collaboration Contribute to designing and executing research projects in collaboration with faculty and international partners. Identify funding opportunities and support the preparation of research grant proposals. Assist in managing research budgets, timelines, and deliverables. Work within interdisciplinary research teams to ensure project success.Academic Networking & Knowledge Dissemination Present research findings at international conferences, workshops, and symposiums. Collaborate with global academic networks and institutions. Contribute to the organization of seminars, symposiums, and academic conferences. Engage in policy reports, white papers, and public dissemination of research findings.Editorial & Institutional Contributions Serve as an editor or peer reviewer for high-impact journals. Participate in editing research newsletters and academic publications. Support research centre activities, including strategic planning and research policy development.Qualifications & Experience Ph.D. in Sociology, Anthropology, Political Science, Communication, or a related discipline within the humanities and social sciences. Strong record of peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals. Experience in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. Proficiency in NVivo, Python, R, SPSS, AI-based research tools, and digital humanities methodologies. Demonstrated ability to contribute to grant writing and securing research funding. Experience supervising postgraduate students and research teams. Bilingual or trilingual proficiency is an advantage.Knowledge & Skills Ability to communicate research findings effectively in academic and public settings. Strong writing and editing skills for academic publications. Ability to conduct independent research and collaborate on interdisciplinary projects. Proficiency in data analysis, computational research, and digital social sciences methodologies. Ability to work effectively in diverse academic and research environments.
