Research Scientist - Liner & Backings (m/f/d)

What you will doAs a Research Scientist – Liner & Backings, you will be part of our Technology Lab, where we develop advanced polymer films and release liners for high-performance adhesive tapes. In this role, you will contribute to the development of innovative and sustainable materials, helping us strengthen our position as a technology leader in the adhesives industry.You will work at the interface of material science, process engineering, and product development, combining hands-on laboratory work with cross-functional collaboration. Your contributions will directly influence the next generation of tape backings and liners that support sustainability, efficiency, and performance across a variety of industrial applications.Development of filmic materials within R&D projects, in close cooperation with suppliersProject management of material and process development initiatives, as appropriateClose collaboration with internal product development, production, and purchasing teamsPreparation and testing of laboratory samples to assess material performanceSupport of pilot and production trials for scale-up and validationDocumentation, interpretation, and presentation of experimental resultsTechnical responsibility for selected parts of the filmic backing assortmentWhat you will needMaster’s degree in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or comparable field, with focus on polymer technology or surface scienceSolid understanding of polymer film production and processingStrong analytical and conceptual thinking skillsProactive, hands-on, and collaborative working styleExcellent organizational skills and an international mindsetProficiency in MS365 and standard office applicationsVery good English skills (German is an advantage but not required)What you can expecttesa is one of the world's leading manufacturers of adhesive tape solutions, with a range of more than 7,000 products.
