Your jobTo support the demand for high-throughput proteomics at the Laboratory of Biochemistry, we are looking for a highly motivated Proteomics Research Technician. You are responsible for organizing and maintaining our proteomics workflow, using high-end equipment such as a liquid-handling station and mass spectrometers. You will prepare samples for different research lines in close collaboration with our research groups and our Proteomics Staff-Scientist.Your duties and responsibilities include:organizing and maintaining our proteomics workflow;operation of a liquid handling station and mass spectrometer;sample preparation for different research lines;contribute to general laboratory organization;contribute to teaching practicals.Your teamThe Laboratory of Biochemistry at Wageningen University and Research is a vibrant and multidisciplinary department where we study biochemical processes in plants, fungi and bacteria. You will be part of the “Research Support Team” of the Laboratory of Biochemistry, which is composed of research technicians and staff scientists, and is led by the lab manager.Your qualitiesYou have a BSc degree in Life Sciences, Biological and Medical Research, Biotechnology or similar field (HBO/HLO level) and are interested in biochemical research and proteomics analysis.In addition:you are practice-oriented and can plan your work independently and accurately;you enjoy helping, training and collaborating with other researchers (PhD students and Postdocs);preferably you have experience with electronic lab journals/LIMS;you are enthusiastic and proactive;you have an excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written, and you enjoy working in an international environment.This position requires a good English language proficiency (a mininum of CEFR B2 level).
