About Environmental Economics UnitThe Environmental Economics Unit support the development of health systems that are efficient, equitable, environmentally sustainable, and climate-resilient by focusing on both carbon resilient healthcare (mitigation) and climate resilient healthcare (adaptation) aspects of climate and health.On the mitigation side, we aim to understand how the health sector contributes to environmental degradation and climate change and identify ways to reduce such impacts without compromising welfare (health and financial).On the adaptation side, we focus on understanding how climate change and environmental degradation affect human health and health systems, as well as identifying cost-effective interventions to adapt to and reduce effects of climate change.For more information, please visit:https://www.hitap.net/en/about-us/units/environmental-economics-unit/ResponsibilitiesResearchServe as a Principal Investigator (PI) to lead and manage research projectsConceptualise and lead the development of research proposals (to secure funding)Execute research projects as the Technical LeadManage project budgetSupervise and manage project membersCommunicate research findings internally and externallyReport to fundersPlay supporting role in projects for which they are not PICapacity buildingDevelop and execute capacity building plans (for e.g., technical trainings), both internally and externallyNetworkingMaintain existing and foster new partnerships with domestic and international partnersGeneralRepresent the unit in internal and external meetings and forumsSupport the Head of the Unit as neededQualificationsMaster's degree or PhD in degrees in environmental economics, health economics, or economics.Minimum of 4–5 years of experience in academia, research institutions, or consulting firms. Preferred experience in cost–benefit analysis, costing, or macroeconomic modelling (e.g., general equilibrium models).Experienced in writing grants, reports, and manuscriptsTrack record of collaboratively leading and efficiently managing research projectsPassionate about research and innovation in climate change and environmental sustainabilityStrong written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in Thai and EnglishDesirable TraitsPositive and growth mindset; flexible and adaptable; resilient; respectful; collaborative; curious; critical thinking; big picture thinking.
