Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic self-starter to join our team to oversee the activities at Council’s Mangoplah & Uranquinty Rural Transfer Centre. If you enjoy working outdoors, are physically fit and have an interest in waste and recycling, then this is the role for you!Permanent, part-time position (10.5 per week).Mangoplah - Sunday: 9.00am – 12.00pm (3 hours per week).Uranquinty - Wednesday: 8.00am – 11.45am & Sunday: 1.00pm – 4.45pm (7.5 hours per week).Remuneration of $602.47 gross per fortnight based on part-time hours of work + superannuation (12%).Penalty rates applicable for hours worked on weekends.Location: Mangoplah, 211 Holbrook Road & Uranquinty, 180 Connorton Street.Your New RoleAs the Rural Landfill Attendant (Mangoplah & Uranquinty) you will be responsible for:Managing the disposal of domestic waste;Inspecting loads to ensure compliance with disposal policies;Processing payments and charges for waste disposal activities; andSite safety and security.What You Will Need To SucceedWe are looking for someone with:Great communication and customer service skills;An ability to work independently;Current Class C Driver’s Licence; andConstruction Induction Certificate (White) (desired not essential).In accordance with Work Health and Safety legislation, the successful applicant is required to be vaccinated for Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B and Tetanus and will be asked to provide evidence of this.What is next?Applications close Sunday, 16 November 2025 at 11.59pm AEDST with interviews to be held in the week commencing on Monday, 24 November 2025.If you are interested in this role and would like more information, please contact Tammie Cook, Supervisor Solid Waste on 02 6926 9165 or 0437 701 447.As part of the recruitment process, pre-employment checks will be conducted in line with requirements of the position.For more information and to apply, please visithttps://wagga.pulsesoftware.com/Pulse/jobsCouncil is an inclusive employer.
