Sales Account Executive - New Jersey Territory

Job Description

The Sales Account Executive will promote the sale of lumber and lumber products and service customers according to the philosophy of LLP and as directed by the Sales Manager and President.Responsibilities/Principal Duties:Call on, maintain and expand existing accounts.Prospect for new business and accounts within the assigned territory or market.Follow up on leads derived from Sales Associates/Support.Maintain sales territory in an efficient manner.Operate within the prescribed sales/marketing program. Communicate effectively with all necessary parties: Sales Support, Sales Associate, Traffic Manager, Operations/Production Manager, Procurement Manager, Inventory Manager, Business Manager and any others.Monitor, manage and achieve sales goals and objectives.Maintain a high level of industry-related knowledge and expertise.Maintain awareness of business and market-related trends and their impact on LLP sales and service.Maintain a log/documentation to record quotes of sales, credits, customer information in prescribed CRM (Customer Relations Manager) software. Maintain customer profiles in accounting software.Manage a territory development plan.Be prepared to travel with the other management and trainees.Monitor the activity of competitors and their impact on LLP sales and service.Create accurate sales quotes based on LLP pricing guidelines and report such quotes to the Sales Manager. Troubleshoot any potential customer conflicts or concerns to maintain and improve customer relations and confidence.Always Adhere to the LLP Credit Policy.Properly maintain and utilize company vehicles and all other company property. Utilize all credit cards and company perks with the utmost of ethical intentions as reflected by the ownership of LLP. Adhere to company confidentiality policies.Work independently under minimum supervision.Attend appropriate industry association meetings as approved by the Sales Manager.Work trade shows and company related events as assigned by the Sales Manager. Perform other duties as assigned by the Sales Manager or the President.Adhere to all policies and procedures as outlined in the LLP Employee Handbook and Policies Procedure Manual.Display a positive attitude and maintain a spirit of cooperation when dealing with both internal and external customers.Oversee situational sales strategies within the sales team when available.Requirements:EducationH.S. Diploma or GED required. Associate or BS/BA Degree in Forestry or Wood Products, Marketing, Sales or Business is preferred. A minimum of two or three years of technical lumber experience. Sales and territory management experience.CertificationsValid Drivers’ License ExperienceSalesReading and interpreting blueprints.Establishing and maintaining customer relationships. SkillsAnalyticalObservationalOrganizational Communication Self-driven KnowledgeLumber and/or manufacturing industry.Reading and interpreting blueprints.Measurement conversion. AbilitiesManage an expense account. Drive a company/personal vehicle safely while conducting Company business.Comply with all company policies and procedures.Possess a keen understanding of LLP processes and quality standards related to lumber and millwork, in time.Utilize visualization of 3-dimensional objects for proper interpretation of blueprints.Excellent communication skills, as this position is a liaison between the customer and production teams.Work independentlyPhysicalMust be able to travel and drive extensively on a weekly basis. Some overnights will be required at times. Occasional light to moderate lifting. Must be able to tolerate a wide variety of environments, such as offices, warehouses, vehicles, outdoor weather and climates, factories.Additional Details:Full Time Work Hours: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM; extensive travel and occasional overnights possible.Work location is partially remote. To be addressed during interview.BenefitsInsurance:                        Health, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, AD&DVacation:                          1 week (5 days) prorated during first year, 1 week 5 days) after one year, 2 weeks (10 days) after 2 years workedPersonal Days:                 1 after 90 days, 2nd after 6 months in first year, 2 per year after that. Option for bonus day pending a good performance review.Holidays:                        New Years, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving (eligible after 90-day probationary period).401 K Retirement:            401-K with Profit Sharing (eligible after 90 days of employment for deferment. Open enrollment in January or July.)Pay level:        $50K - $70K dependent on experience; commissions available once the candidate is proficient as a Salesperson.Training:         Approximately 2-6 months required on the job training, based on individual knowledge and experience. Dependent on physical residence it may be necessary to stay in the Picture Rocks area Monday through Friday to obtain the training needed for the position.
