Scaffold Journeyman - Various Locations

This posting is for any Yates Industrial project location that has issued a requisition. Job SummaryA Scaffold Builder positions and dismantles wooden structures, such as concrete forms, scaffolds, tunnel and sewer supports, and temporary frame shelters, according to sketches, blueprints, or Yates standards.Overview Of Primary Duties Erecting and dismantling scaffolding; inspecting and sorting scaffolding as required.Load and unload scaffold components and equipment.Set up hoisting equipment for raising and placing scaffold components.Use ropes and harnesses or ladders to access scaffolding sites.Using drawings, assemble scaffolding from parts.Bolt or screw sections together.Verify vertical and horizontal alignment of scaffold components using plumb bob, level, or other instruments.Cut, trim, or drill scaffold components for fit using hand and power tools.Select gear, such as cables, pulleys, and winches, according to load weight and size, facilities, and work schedule.Tear down scaffolding.Assemble and install supporting structures, rigging, hoists, and pulling gear, using hand and power tools.Fabricate and repair rigging, such as slings, tackle, and ladders, using hand and power tools.Select scaffold component sizes and types and related materials, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to specifications.Demonstrate Yates Core Values and PrinciplesFollow Yates Code of ConductSafety Responsibilities and ExpectationsResponsible for refusing unsafe work and for carrying out all work by the established Yates Safety Procedures and Work PracticesReport all incidents, near hits, and hazards to management.Required to wear and maintain personal PPE.Advise fellow employees of hazardous situations.Participate in workplace inspections.Comply with statutory requirements, including duty of care.Participate in required and assigned training.Provide suggestions to improve Safety.Present a mature approach to working safely.Attend prestart and Safety meetings and contribute.Other related duties as needed and assigned by Field Supervision.This is not an all-inclusive list of tasks an employee may be asked to do.
