Our teams are embracing emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, to deliver smarter services and real-world benefits for students, staff, and the wider community.Within Technology Services, our five dynamic work units – Data, Architecture & Integration, Cyber Resilience, Digital Delivery & Innovation, Technology Platforms, and Operations & Services – work collaboratively to deliver high-impact solutions across the University.We’re now seeking a Scrum Master, a hybrid of agile coach, systems optimiser, and experimental catalyst, to help our teams work smarter, faster, and more effectively. Reporting to the Portfolio Delivery Principal, you’ll shape how SCU teams collaborate, deliver, and continuously improve across out digital ecosystem.This is not a traditional Scrum Master role, it’s a chance to reimagine how flow, data, and automation transform the way people work. You’ll coach teams in agile principles, optimise workflows and tooling, and lead experiments that enhance engagement, speed, and quality.You will make an impact by:Coaching teams and leaders in agile principles, flow metrics, and value-focused delivery to strengthen collaboration and team ownershipFacilitating agile rhythms and workshops that foster psychological safety, learning, and continuous improvement across delivery streamsUsing data, metrics, and systems thinking to identify bottlenecks, improve flow, and enhance delivery predictabilityDesigning and deploying automation, AI assistants, and smart tooling to reduce friction and increase team productivityOptimizing Atlassian and related delivery platforms to improve visibility, governance, and informed decision-makingLeading continuous experimentation and capability uplift initiatives that embed innovation and agile ways of working across the UniversityWhat you will bringYou’re a forward-thinking coach and problem solver who sees the big picture while sweating the system details. You love empowering teams, simplifying complexity, and using data and automation to turn good delivery into great flow.To succeed in this role, you will also need:A degree in a relevant field and substantial experience in agile delivery, including several years as a Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or Delivery LeadDeep knowledge of agile, lean, and flow-based practices, with the ability to adapt your coaching stance to context and team maturityHands on expertise configuring, administering, and optimizing Atlassian or similar delivery toolsetsStrong analytical and data skills, using flow metrics, dashboards, and visualization to drive continuous improvementExperience introducing automation, AI-enabled tools, or scaled agile practices to enhance productivity and delivery outcomesA commitment to inclusive, collaborative, and continuously learning ways of working that align with SCU’s valuesWhy Southern Cross UniversitySCU is proudly a regional university, young, small and vibrant.
