KCC seeks an earthquake hazard professional to join our growing team of catastrophe model developers. For more information, please visit www.kcc.us.com.Expected Salary Range: $90,000-$100,000ResponsibilitiesCollect and analyze regional historical seismicity dataResearch regional tectonics, including fault structures and rupture mechanismsDevelop magnitude-frequency relationships for seismic source zones and faultsDevelop smooth and background seismicity modelsConduct post-event damage surveys for major global eventsQualificationsPhD in Seismology or Geophysics with research relevant to seismic source modelingKnowledge of earthquake frequency parameters and experience with magnitude-frequency distributionsKnowledge and experience in advanced probability and statistical methodsExcellent oral and written communication skills, keen orientation to detail, an eye for professional presentation, and recognized organizational abilitiesExperience with Python desirableAbility to travel within the US or internationally with little advance noticeExperience with GIS software (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS, etc.) is a plusExperience in catastrophe modeling a plusKnowledge of C# programming language a plusSome work experience (≤ 5 years) a plus
